Accessibility By Design: Preparing K-12 Schools for What's Next
Legal obligations for digital accessibility in K-12 are understandably confusing. The concept of providing accessible materials beyond what a student requires in the IEP is a new concept for states and school districts. Webinar Series: Powering Digital Accessibility Through Systemic Action
October 9 and 23, November 6 and 20, and December 4 and 18, online
NCADEMI offers a free interactive webinar series to prepare state and local education teams to implement NCADEMI’s Quality Indicators for the Provision and Use of Accessible Materials in PreK–12 Systems. The series will also lay the groundwork for those considering our year-long targeted technical assistance beginning in January 2026. Across six 50-minute sessions with optional office hours, participants will explore digital accessibility requirements; discover how the Quality Indicators guide systemic action to ensure consistent access to educational materials by learners with disabilities; and assess their readiness to implement the Quality Indicators.
American Printing House (APH) Annual Meeting

The APH Annual Meeting is a great convening for those who work with students and adults who are blind or low vision. Participants can network with over 400 professionals from the field and learn more about new APH products, services, and initiatives. NCADEMI will be represented on a panel of national technical assistance providers that support educational agencies with implementing ADA Title II regulations. National Association of State Directors of Special Education
(NASDSE) Conference
October 27-29, 2025 in San Diego, California
NCADEMI will present "Building SEA Support for LEA Provision of Accessible Digital Educational Materials & Instruction." This session will introduce special education leaders to NCADEMI’s Quality Indicators for the Provision and Use of Accessible Materials in PreK-12 Systems. The team will facilitate a discussion that emphasizes the importance of including accessibility in the areas of evaluation, procurement, creation, selection, and use of high-quality educational materials and technologies. With a focus on how each critical component serves as an action item towards achieving a robust, coordinated system, attendees will be given ideas for immediate improvement to their current systems. Beyond immediate improvements, this discussion will help agencies identify the need to build a community and culture that prioritizes accessibility for students with disabilities. It will also highlight the value of the connection between SEAs and LEAs as they collaborate on the provision of accessible digital educational materials and instruction.
