Hello friends,

Remember when Martin O’Malley was governor? I do. It was a terrible time to be a Marylander and we need to do everything possible to prevent a Democrat from taking back the Governor’s office this election.

We can either build upon the progress that our state has made over the last eight years with a Republican governor, or return back to the liberal playbook of non-stop tax hikes, a floundering economy, more government control, and an attempt to hijack our education system.

On Tue., July 19th, Marylanders and Carroll County voters have the opportunity to make their voices heard in the primary election. At the top of the ballot, will be our choice for our next governor. For me, the choice is very easy. I will proudly be casting my vote for Kelly Schulz for governor and Jeff Woolford for lieutenant governor. This is the strongest ticket running in the gubernatorial field. It is tough to be a Republican in Maryland as we are outnumbered 2 to 1, so it is critical that we be smart and strategic in whom we nominate to run statewide.

Kelly Schulz is the only Republican candidate running who can win in November.

I’ve known Kelly and Jeff for a long time and I can tell you that they are hardworking, they love our state, and have the experience and record of accomplishment to lead this state to an even brighter future.

Kelly and I served in the legislature together, fighting against tax hikes and progressive policies. We worked closely with each other when she was the Secretary of Labor and Secretary of Commerce. While serving in the governor’s cabinet she never forgot about Carroll County and was always available to help us.

Kelly has the experience and a tremendous record of success. While serving as a two-time cabinet secretary of the state’s two largest economic agencies, Kelly:

·        led nationally recognized job training and apprenticeship programs

·        removed barriers for business by eliminating or streamlining hundreds of regulations

·        supported our family farmers, small business owners, and job creators across the state of Maryland, making Maryland more competitive and attractive for new businesses.

Under Kelly’s leadership, Maryland now ranks as the most improved state for business in America.

Jeff Woolford is an extremely qualified patriot and honorably retired colonel after 30 years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force, serving as a fighter pilot and flight surgeon. Jeff is a top Commander of the 175th Medical Group in the Maryland Air National Guard. A graduate of Westminster High School, Jeff, and his family now reside in Sykesville.

Together, the ticket of Schulz/Woolford exemplifies the leadership and vision Maryland needs. Kelly and Jeff are running to make sure that you and your family have a safe, steady, and prosperous future in our state.

I have every confidence that Kelly will make a great governor and continue her efforts to:

·        fight for lower taxes including for our retirees and working families

·        fight to keep our communities safe by tackling the violent crime crisis across our state and supporting law enforcement- making sure that repeat violent offenders stay behind bars and are held accountable, rather than out on our streets.

·        fight to give parents full control of their children’s education & increased accountability for all school systems

Kelly understands that a good economy equals good jobs for our citizens. With record high inflation, record high gas prices, and food and housing costs skyrocketing, Kelly Schulz is the only candidate who has made issues of affordability a centerpiece of her campaign.

As governor, Kelly will fight to give you relief at the gas pump by eliminating automatic increases to the gas tax, due to inflation. The choice as to who should be our next governor is very clear. Kelly Schulz is the most uniquely qualified candidate to face any Democrat in November and has earned my vote on July 19th.

I hope that you will join me in voting for her.
