Why care? Food is a non-discretionary purchase for everyone and higher food prices put pressure on wages for every employee from every industry. In addition, some larger employers, including schools, use catering services or have cafeterias and are likely to see prices rise.
New and innovative chemistries are being researched and could solve the shortage issue. As the world’s population grows, the pressure to feed everyone and solve food insecurity challenges will continue. We’ll need our partners in the chemical industry to, again, be the “science behind the scenes” that we all need.
