Align Networks Changes its Name to One Call Care Physical Therapy.....WHAT???
You might HAVE to read it to believe it!  Here is the official link:

Align says, in part, that they are changing their name because:

"As part of One Call Care Management's continued effort to streamline our services, we are pleased to announce that Align Networks is changing its name and visual brand identity to One Call Physical Therapy. The new name, logo and branding of our physical medicine services now unites all of our One Call products under a single brand identity."

Align does NOT say that they are changing their name because they may have an issue with their visual brand identity following the filing of iPTCA's federal lawsuit against them, which accuses them of unfair, deceptive, illegal, or fraudulent business acts and practices.

In times of crisis, some companies are able to successfully change their image and change their behavior.  But a simple name change does not necessarily mean that a company will change its behavior.......

Does the name change mean that iPTCA is 'WINNING' the lawsuit??

We can't say.....

YOU be the 'JUDGE'!

Align.... I mean One Call Care Physical Therapy, Will 'Hit' PTs With New Credit Card Fees!
It just keeps getting better and better......

Today, on the web we discovered that, "Align/One Call will be transitioning to a new payment system, ECHO Health. This new payment system will now be sending payments via QuicRemit Virtual Card (VCard), the default payment option."

We have not been notified that any providers have heard about this new program that they will be automatically being opted into.  If you do receive a letter like this, please let us know.

Then, we found this statement by doing a deep dive internet search......

August 1 - We are excited to announce that you will be receiving payments via a new electronic payment method, QuicRemit Virtual Card by ECHO.
  • This stems from recent feedback by our network providers requesting quicker reimbursements and efficient payment reconciliation options.
  • Click here for FAQs on Echo electronic payments.
Why would Align, (we mean One Call Care Physical Therapy) be excited to announce this new plan?? Here are some potential reasons:
  • Align may need help paying in a timely fashion because according to DaisyBill, they paid in an average of 52 days in 2016. State law requires payment in 15 business days for electronic claims.  That is what we call delinquent!
  • Instead of incurring the costs of cutting checks and/or or filing EFT payments to PTs, Align, (we mean One Call Care Physical Therapy), will burden physical therapists with a new V-card program where they get 'hit' with a merchant fee to collect their contracted rate, which is oftentimes only $65/visit. The merchant fee will depend on your volume, but could be about 3-4%.
  • iPT is wondering whether Align receives a 'con$ideration' from Echo to participate in this scheme.
  • Wouldn't anyone be excited about the prospect of sticking someone else with a bill to take care of their responsibility?
  • An iPT member's merchant fees increased by about $7,000 after MedRisk started a similar program. We wonder how much of that $$$$ makes it back into the middlemen's pocket.  Given that it could be a significant amount of money for very little work, it could be a very "exciting" concept for a middleman!
  • There may be other reasons for Align to be excited, but it is hard to imagine that PTs will be jumping for joy to have their payment effectively 'docked'!
Do yourself a favor.......
Look into this new plan for both Align and MedRisk.....
AND if you do not like it.......

OPT OUT!!

Q: How do I opt out of the Virtual Card and change my payment method?
A: Contact ECHO directly at 888-834-3511.

iPTCA will press this issue because Align, (we mean One Call Care PT), has to follow CA laws without automatically opting health care providers into to an effective payment cut.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

P.S.-  I guess the name change has not stuck with us yet!!

iPT's Attorneys Light UP Unencumbered Conference With Incriminating Presentation on One Call and Align

Pictured above- Alan Mansfield, iPTCA attorney and lead Unfair Competition Litigator for the nationally renowned Whatley Kallas, LLC reviews the legal 'Prayer for Relief' at the end of the lawsuit related to One Call and Align's business acts and practices:

"Defendants' acts of unfair competition as set forth above present a continuing threat and will persist and continue to do so unless and until this Court issues appropriate injunctive and declaratory relief, including a declaration whether the contracts offered and imposed by Defendants in violation of the above laws are void as against public policy. In addition, Plaintiff may be entitled to equitable relief according to proof at time of trial. Plaintiff also seeks attorneys' fees and costs pursuant to, inter alia, C.C.P. § 1021.5."

Here's what the slide he is showing says:

PRAYER FOR RELIEF

WHEREFORE, Plaintiff, individually and on behalf of its non-contracted members as set forth above, prays for relief as follows to the extent permitted by law:
1. Injunctive and declaratory relief;
2. Other equitable relief;
3. Attorneys' fees and costs pursuant to, inter alia, C.C.P. § 1021.5; and
4. Such other and further relief as the Court may deem appropriate.

Those who have witnessed the skill, content expertise, and assertiveness of iPTCA's attorneys might wonder if One Call and Align may soon be  praying for relief!
