Jewel Runaway Bay:
A Hidden Gem Worth Checking Out
I need to tell you about our day at Jewel Runaway Bay back when we were in Jamaica last May. The reason I need to tell you about it is because my 7-year-old son cannot stop talking about it. We had such a great time and created such fun memories that it would be selfish to keep this adventure all to ourselves! Here are our highlights to this fabulous resort, and why you should consider Jewel Runaway Bay for your next family vacation.
Waterparks

I don’t know about your kids, but if a resort has a water park, then it counts as a win in our books! This water park is complete with a lazy river, two slides (48” height requirement) and a splash pad. Not only that, the music was bumping and the entertainment was live! There was plenty of space to throw down your towel and enjoy the day.
Jerk Shack

Not all resorts have amazing jerked chicken available to their guests but Jewel Runaway Bay offered up that authentic cuisine. The specialist recipe was so addictive that we made sure our beach chairs were in close proximity to the Jerk Shack. My little 5-year-old, Preston, could smell what I was eating and asked for a bite. He said, “Mom, that is so spicy. Mom, I want more.” The kid ate my entire plate despite the heat.
The Staff

I HAVE to praise the staff. Part of my day at Jewel Runaway Bay included a guided tour of the property (not always the most exciting part of the job). Gavin, my 7-year-old, insisted on joining me, even offering to be my photographer, I agreed. Gavin asked the guide if the mangos on the tree can be eaten. The guide went through 3 mango trees to get the best mango for Gavin. It made Gavin’s day!
Entertainment

The entertainment by the kids pool was perfect. They were so engaging that they had every kids in the pool participating in their games and laughing at their jokes. They had guys doing tricks with soccer balls and had a dance off. It was absolutely perfect.
