Agents are inundated with emails, new listings, price reductions, open houses, “just listed,” “last chance,” and everything in between. It raises an important question:
At what point does more outreach actually become less effective?
Sending frequent blasts about every update may feel like the safest strategy. But there is a growing argument that less can actually be more when it comes to broker-to-broker communication.
When inboxes are flooded, even strong listings risk getting lost in the noise. Brokers begin to skim, or worse, ignore, emails from senders who communicate too often without clear differentiation. The result? Diminishing returns on what should be valuable exposure.
Consider a more curated approach:
- Be selective about what you send. Not every update needs a blast.
- Make each email count. Highlight what truly differentiates the property (pricing strategy, unique features, seller flexibility, etc.).
- Timing matters. A well-timed, thoughtfully crafted email can outperform multiple generic reminders.
- Quality over quantity. One compelling message is often more effective than five repetitive ones.
There is also a branding component to consider. Brokers who send fewer, more targeted emails often develop a reputation for sharing opportunities that are actually worth opening.
This isn’t to say you should go silent, but rather, be more intentional. The goal is not just to reach inboxes, but to engage them.
I’d be curious to hear your thoughts. Are you seeing better results from a more focused approach, or does volume still win in your experience?
As always, if you have any questions on structuring deals, navigating contracts, or getting a transaction to the finish line, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Keith
