Hello, friends!

As we enter the beautiful fall foliage season in Maine, I am here to share a truth that I feel strongly about: While artificial intelligence is an incredible tool, it will never replace the power of a strong personal brand.

AI can generate content, analyze data and even mimic human interaction. But what it cannot replicate is your story, your relationships and your unique personality. That’s what makes your brand distinctly you.

Think about it: When people choose to do business, hire a consultant or support a cause, they aren’t just buying a service or product — they are investing in trust. Trust comes from connection, and connection comes from people, not machines.

So how do you build and sustain a strong personal brand in an age where AI is everywhere? Here are three timeless strategies:

1. Build Your Network

Relationships are at the heart of every opportunity. Attend events, join associations, follow up after introductions and be generous in offering help. When you build authentic connections, you create a circle of advocates who will support and recommend you — something no algorithm can replicate.

2. Be Findable Online

It’s not enough to be known in your immediate circle — you also need to be discoverable. A well-maintained LinkedIn profile, a professional website, and active social media channels ensure that when people search for you, they find consistent, credible and compelling information.

3. Stay Relevant

The world changes quickly, and staying informed keeps your brand fresh. Share your expertise, comment on trends, and continually learn new skills. By staying visible and relevant, you ensure your personal brand grows stronger over time rather than fading into the background.

Best,

Tip of the Month

It’s essential to connect with people both in your personal and professional life. I was with friends this weekend who said they don’t need to meet anyone new in their lives. I strongly disagree. Having a broad network of people who know, like and trust you will serve you for the rest of your life. Perhaps they will just become friends, but maybe they will have something you need at some point, or perhaps they will be there to help you up when you fall and hurt yourself. You never know, but having an extensive network will make your life more fulfilling and happier for the rest of your life.
