Canadians report far higher job satisfaction and engagement than global averages
Canada is home to some of the most satisfied and engaged workers in the world.

In numerous studies, Canadians report higher levels of workplace satisfaction and engagement than global averages, even when compared with similar economies and cultures.

High job satisfaction and engagement is associated with better employee mental health, lower turnover rates and better business results overall.

A 2018 international survey of 8,000 workers by Monster Canada, for example, found that nearly two-thirds of Canadian employees are content with their jobs.

In July WPH will be launching the Hamilton Job Satisfaction Survey, which will run until the end of September. We will be seeking people who are currently working or who have worked in the past year to complete the survey.

Study shows that nearly half of Canadian firms plan to spend on employee training and satisfaction

Nearly half of Canadian business leaders surveyed for a new report said they plan to boost spending on skills training for their staff in the next two years.

The recently released bi-annual survey found that 47 per cent of Canadian respondents said their companies planned to spend more on training employees, and 42 per cent said they'd spend more on employee satisfaction and well-being.

The report called Navigator: Made for the Future was conducted by research firm Kantar on behalf of HSBC.

It surveyed decision makers at 2,500 businesses in 14 countries and territories, 200 of them in Canada.
