Faces of Faith this week: Anna

Ending at the Beginning. People always seem interested in knowing how things will end, as if somehow knowing when we would die would change how we live. Our face of faith is Anna who, along with Simeon, sees in the infant Jesus his entire future. All the glory and all the pain. Perhaps it does change how He lives His life? And though we don't get to know when we will die, we know that we will. Can that be enough to call us to live more fully in Christ?

Holy and Mighty God, we know that all things are in Your care. You call us to trust and live fully following in the footsteps of Your Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
Why go on a mission trip? Most congregations want to send their youth on mission trips. They are able to find the resources because they feel it is important. Mission trips are wonderful, but not because of the work we are able to do only. The work is a means to push ourselves outside our comfort zone in our skills and in our relationships with others. And this...can have a profound impact on our faith if we are alert to it. Let's hold in prayer our first adult mission trip that was put on hold due to Covid-19. We plan to try again next spring. Maybe you'll be called outside your comfort zone and into a place of growth.
Our Youth returned safely from their mission trip to Martin, Kentucky last Friday! We look forward to hearing their stories and seeing more photos in our worship services on July 31/August 1. #generouslifeinChrist
We lift up in prayer
  • Carol Jacklin's daughter-in-law, Debbie Jacklin, having back surgery
  • For safety as people venture out on summer travels
  • For the rescue workers and medical professionals working diligently at the site of the Miami condo collapse, and for the families who have lost or await news of their loved ones.
