A message from Katie Henry
MMAC's World Trade Association Executive Director

As the Milwaukee BizTimes recently noted in an article promoting the MMAC World Trade Association Wisconsin International Trade Conference, " It's an interesting time to talk trade."  I'm not sure if interesting is exactly the right word. I've heard from international business leaders who are anxious, confused, and downright nervous about their future in the global world. As with any new presidential administration, there are sure to be some policy changes affecting global trade, but this time around, we seem to be taking on free trade agreements in mass.

I'm assured that a wait-and-see approach is best. Wait for the dust to settle.  Remain flexible. Stay informed and educate yourself.  A great way to do this is to attend the WTA Wisconsin International Trade Conference on May 11th.  Let's learn, survive, and thrive together!

Here are a few insights from conference presenters:

WEDC Trade Mission to Mexico
With a growing middle class in Mexico, the demand for U.S. goods continues to increase, positioning the country as a prime opportunity for companies seeking to expand their business through exporting. To begin opening those doors, Wisconsin companies are invited to join Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) on a global trade mission to Mexico, June 11-16. Learn more and register by May 12th.

Grant money is available to attend & use toward travel costs. Contact Chad Hoffman

Save the date!  WTA's Summer Social is Thursday, July 27th.  Join us for a taste of Spain!
