Tape lighting is only as good as the extrusion it lives in. The channel protects the LED, manages heat, shapes the light, and ultimately determines whether the finished installation looks polished and intentional or like an afterthought. BL Lighting has understood this from the beginning and have created their fixFORM Series of commercial-grade aluminum extrusions built specifically to work in concert with their flexFORM LED systems. Let's look at why two new additions to that lineup deserve attention.

Before getting to what's new, it's worth understanding what makes the fixFORM platform such a practical specification tool across a wide range of project types. The series covers surface mount, recessed, suspended, and step applications — with solid aluminum base tracks that function as excellent heat sinks, acrylic or silicone diffuser lenses that uniformly diffuse light while protecting the LED from dust and damage, and a finish palette that includes standard silver, black, and white. Whether the application is cove lighting in a hospitality environment, under-cabinet illumination in a kitchen or retail display, step delineation in an auditorium, or a custom suspended pendant, there's a fixFORM profile engineered for it. The SPK suspended configuration even integrates conductive suspension wires that combine structural and electrical function in a single element — a clean, considered solution for custom pendant applications. The Stair Nose extrusion adds wayfinding and safety lighting to steps and stairways with a built-in step-to-floor reducer for a smooth, safe transition. And the high-load-bearing Recessed 2626 handles floors and high-traffic walkway applications where durability is as important as light quality.

Two new profiles expand the system's reach into spaces where the existing lineup couldn't go and both reward the kind of creative, detail-oriented specification work that designers and interior architects bring to the most resolved interiors.

The S2308 is a surface-mounted black aluminum profile with a silicone optical diffuser that measures just 0.31 inches high and 0.89 inches wide — making it one of the slimmest surface mount options in the fixFORM family. At that profile, it disappears into the underside of cabinetry, slides into the tightest millwork reveals, and handles indirect cove applications where the fixture itself needs to be invisible and the light needs to be anything but. The silicone diffuser produces bright, uniform, glare-free illumination that works particularly well bounced off a ceiling or wall surface — adding spatial depth and atmosphere without drawing attention to the source. For hospitality environments, residential interiors, and retail applications where the lighting needs to feel effortless, the S2308 is the kind of detail that elevates a finished space without showing up in any photograph.

The RN1808 takes a fundamentally different approach — and it's the more unconventional of the two. At just 0.33 inches wide and 0.68 inches deep, this recessed niche extrusion features an innovative dual-sided LED strip design that allows installation on both the top and bottom of the profile simultaneously. Dual integrated silicone optical diffusers ensure soft, bright, uniform illumination in both directions. For cabinet lighting that needs to illuminate both the shelf above and the surface below, retail display applications where merchandise needs to be lit from multiple angles, or residential furniture details where layered light adds richness and depth, the RN1808 opens up specification possibilities that a single-sided extrusion simply can't offer. It's a small profile doing a surprisingly large amount of work.

Together, the S2308 and RN1808 reinforce what makes the fixFORM platform genuinely useful on complex projects: the ability to address a wide range of architectural conditions — from wide-open cove runs to the tightest cabinet niches — with a consistent LED system and a family of extrusions engineered to work with it. For large hospitality, residential, retail, or mixed-use projects where linear LED appears across multiple applications and zones, specifying within a single platform simplifies coordination, ensures visual consistency, and reduces the number of variables a contractor has to manage in the field.

The right extrusion is the difference between strip lighting that looks custom and strip lighting that just looks done. BL Lighting is in town this week if you would like to see their offering in person!

The Carlotta pendant from Bruck Lighting's Wood Ecological Project inhabits every space as a handcrafted statement that carries its environmental conscience as confidently as its aesthetic.

It's worth understanding what the Wood Ecological Project — WEP — actually represents.

Founded by Marcelo Dabini in 2001 and built around a multidisciplinary team of designers, craftspeople, and sustainability specialists based in Buenos Aires, WEP is a commitment to decorative lighting that is sustainable at every level of production — not as a marketing claim, but as a genuine operational philosophy.

Every WEP fixture is designed, handcrafted, and painted by Master Artisans and made to order, eliminating the waste associated with mass production entirely. The reconstructed, recycled wood veneer used throughout the collection is locally sourced and FSC® certified, developed from a signature flexible reconstituted wood material pioneered by co-founder Norberto Dabini. Color finishes rely on water-based, UV-resistant open-pore stains that are resilient to sunlight, humidity, mold, and water — protecting each piece while letting the natural character of the material speak. Reclaimed wood, repurposed plastics, biodegradable packaging, and mindful energy use complete a zero-waste philosophy where nothing is wasted and everything is considered.

The WEP collection also includes acoustic fixtures incorporating biodegradable wool and viscose felt certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and ISO 9001 — quieting a space as much as defining it. And for specifiers who want to explore finish options before committing, Bruck's WEP Builder tool allows live color preview across the full palette, which draws inspiration from Le Corbusier's Polychromie Architecturale.

A significant new development for the WEP line is the introduction of a patent-pending field replaceable LED module — a twist-lock design that makes end-of-life LED replacement straightforward without discarding the fixture itself. Low glare and high efficiency are built into the module, which includes an LED globe cover for a refined appearance. This is sustainability made practical: a fixture that can be maintained and updated in the field rather than replaced wholesale, extending its useful life significantly. Standard White and Warm Dim options are available alongside an E26 socket for additional flexibility.

The Carlotta itself — designed by Marcos Terra Medina, whose work explores the interplay of light, form, and natural materials — is available in three sizes: 45, 55, and 65. Each is suspended by aircraft cable with a canopy and 108" field-adjustable cord, keeping installation versatile across varying ceiling heights. USA factory assembled and UL listed for indoor dry locations, the Carlotta brings warmth, craft, and a meaningful sustainability story to hospitality, residential, and commercial interiors alike.

The WEP collection has earned recognition across more than two decades of international design fairs and award programs — most recently named Best Decorative Lighting Company at the 2026 Spanish Business Awards.

For projects where the specification needs to reflect values as much as aesthetics, the Carlotta and the WEP collection make a compelling case.
