The new and unprecedented burdens on the nonprofit sector over the past year have shown us that an outside voice of experience is increasingly valuable. With nonprofits having to leverage their time, talent and resources more than ever, outsourcing has become an attractive option to fulfilling your mission without having all the answers yourself.

Over a year has passed since the pandemic upended our lives, and we are finally seeing signs of normalcy returning. For many nonprofits, this means the return of in-person events after a year of adapting to virtual-only productions. Rather than dismiss the virtual component altogether, nonprofits can - and should - consider a hybrid events approach to increase revenue, reach, and donor engagement, even after the pandemic is long gone.

Read our latest article by events experts Patricia Gill, Katie Makris and CJ Orr to learn more about the potential that hybrid events hold for your organization's event success.
RECENT NEWS
This May, we're proud to be sponsoring keynote speaker Caryl M. Stern, Executive Director of the Walton Family Foundation, at the Association of Fundraising Professionals - NYC Chapter's 2021 PhilanthroCon! Caryl will give the opening welcome and keynote: "Why Passion and Partnership Will Shape Philanthropy's Future".

This two-day virtual fundraisers conference features 12 educational sessions, two keynote addresses, and 22 small group breakout sessions, all about the most current and creative ideas in fundraising. Participants will learn from nonprofit industry experts across multiple disciplines including major gifts, planned giving, marketing, campaign management, and more.

On Day 2, Orr Group's Managing Director Craig Shelley, CFRE, will facilitate a conversation on "Retaining Donors Acquired in Unusual Times" to give insight on how organizations can retain donors who've engaged with their mission in times of crisis, as many nonprofits have experienced over the past year.

Both CJ Orr and Craig Shelley, CFRE serve on AFP-NYC's Board of Directors and have played an integral role in bringing PhilanthroCon to life.
The Findings Are In; the future of philanthropy looks optimistic!
In March of this year, Orr Group conducted a survey to attempt to understand and define trends in the nonprofit sector over the past 12 months.

Over 75 nonprofit organizations responded and shared how they are approaching planning and strategy, fundraising, campaigns, and talent and culture. Despite a tumultuous year, the findings painted a clear picture of an optimistic future for the field of philanthropy.

We hope that this information provides value to our partners and the nonprofit sector as a whole. Download our findings to learn more about the trends in the sector. 👇
All-Staff Charity Game Night: Supporting AALEAD
As part of our 2-day All-Staff virtual retreat earlier this month, our team got together on Zoom for a Charity Game Night of Jeopardy! Together, we raised $2,100 for Asian American Youth Leadership Engagement and Development (AALEAD), an organization that empowers Asian American youth through educational, identity, and leadership development.
ORR GROUP PARTNER SPOTLIGHTS
We're thrilled to be partnering with Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) to conceptualize and execute its second annual national/international virtual fundraising Gala to raise awareness and further their mission to become a world leader in cancer research.

Working alongside ICRF, we're designing a virtual event strategy and fundraising structure that is aligned to maximize the event's philanthropic goals. Through hands-on leadership and support, our team will bring this virtual event to life by managing vendors, developing prospect strategy, driving fundraising and executing ICRF's vision.
In an effort to expand fundraising and make a greater impact on nationwide voting rights and equality, we're partnering with The Center for Election Science (CES) to develop a strategy to diversify the organization's staff and Board of Directors.

To do this, we're conducting a cultural assessment to determine CES' values and goals. Based on the assessment, we'll then develop and implement a comprehensive, actionable DEI strategy through training, coaching and practical application, to set their team up for long-term growth and success.
