Exciting Summer Events and Opportunities in Wichita!
Memorial Day at Botanica

Botanica will be open for normal hours on Memorial Day, featuring a special patriotic performance by the Delano Wind Ensemble at 2 pm. All activities and access to the Dinosaurs Around the World Exhibit are included with general admission.
The Q-LINE will have a summertime extension from May 27 - Aug. 12, providing access to Wichita's museums and attractions like Exploration Place, Mid-America All-Indian Museum, Wichita Art Museum, Old Cowtown, and the Advanced Learning Library.
City Pools!

Get ready to dive into summer fun with city swimming pools opening on Memorial Day! Check local city pools for specific swim days and information on rates, rules, and classes. Patrons with proper swimming attire will be admitted free on Swim Day.
Sunflower Summer

From May 26 - August 13, Sunflower Summer offers free access to over 115 venues, including museums, zoos, and historic landmarks. Kansas families can download the free mobile app to plan their adventures.

Store Initiative

Splash into Summer with our City Crew

On June 3 from 6:30-8:30 pm, the Harvest Pool will host a City Crew Event packed with exciting activities, games, contests, and prizes. Not a Crew Member? Ages 2-12 can join today and partake in exclusive crew events like this one! Click below to learn more or to sign up today!
Several locations across Wichita are offering free summer meals for children and teens. It's important to note a new regulation change that requires children to be present to receive a meal. Additionally, all meals must be consumed onsite.
Wichita Transit to Provide Summer Free Rides for Youth

Wichita Transit is excited to offer free, unlimited bus rides on all regular routes and paratransit services to the youth community during the summer season. From May 27th until August 31st, 2023, any child under the age of 18 can ride Wichita Transit routes for free by showing their 2022-2023 school year student ID to the Transit drivers.
District 6 Neighbors, It’s time to register for your Neighborhood Night Out event! The deadline to register is July 18. Registering allows Police, Fire, City Council Members, and other City staff to stop by your event! Registering for your event also allows you to reserve a City park or request barricades or a residential street closure at no cost.
