Wild Care Friends
As we go into the giving season, it's great to take time to reflect on all that we are grateful for. We are grateful for great local businesses like Nauset Disposal, Van Rensselaer's Restaurant, and the Lemon Tree Village Shops (all featured below), for making a difference in the community, and for all of their support of Wild Care!
We are also grateful for all of YOU who support us with monetary donations, donations of critical supplies, attendance at events, moral support, and most of all - for caring about wildlife, and bringing them to our door. <3
Please consider making a
Donation
today to support Wild Care's operations.
Even $5 can make a difference in the life of an animal.
Sincerely, Executive Director, Stephanie ~

Off-Cape Screech Owl Rescue, and Release!
|
By Jennifer Taylor, Animal Care Coordinator
At Wild Care, caring for sick and injured wildlife every day makes us hyper aware of animal life and potential patients, even when we are not working. Walking in the woods or on a beach we will see a lumpy shape ahead and begin calculating... Bird? Mammal? Dead?Moving? Then as we near our approach, we see it is somebody's lost jacket or an old wet glove. This time, the "object" on the side of the road was in fact an Eastern Screech Owl...

Volunteer Spotlight -
Claudia Rothman
|
Wild Care is grateful for our volunteers! We would not survive without them. They assist with everything from animal care, to gardening, to facility maintenance, fundraising, and much more!
This month, we'd like to highlight Claudia Rothman
.
Claudia started as a Clinic Volunteer in July 2017. Claudia volunteers on Mondays & Wednesdays, and is eager to do rescues. In fact, she rescued our infamous Masked Booby from a beach in Wellfleet. Claudia most recently started assisting with the hand-rearing of orphaned wild mice, no small feat. It requires a caring touch and lots of patience, which she most certainly has. She currently has 4 mice in her care.
Claudia. You are such a kind and loving soul.
Your compassion and positive spirit alone makes Wild Care a better place for people and animals. We are grateful that you came to us! <3

About Wild Care
Since 1994, Wild Care has treated injured, ill and orphaned native wildlife for release back into the wild capable of independent survival, prevented wildlife casualties through public education and counseling, and engaged the community in conservation services through volunteerism. Wild Care does not charge the public for our services. We accept wildlife regardless of a rescuer's ability to make a donation; and we never compromise quality of care or the dignity of an animal's life for fundraising purposes.
