Parent Education Topic: College Planning Overview and information in Naviance
We are excited to invite you to an informative session hosted by the DVHS PTSA, focusing on college planning. Our very own Trish Theobald, the knowledgeable and dedicated college career center advisor, will have a visual presentation for us all.
Trish Theobald will provide valuable insights into the college planning process, offering guidance and important information to support your student's journey towards higher education. One key aspect she will cover is the use of Naviance, a powerful tool available through our college career center.
Topics to be covered include:
- Overview of the college application process
- Understanding the role of Naviance in college planning
- Navigating resources and tools within Naviance
This session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and resources needed to actively participate in your student's college planning journey. DVHS Bell Schedule for March 5 - 14
Please see the DVHS Bell Schedule for March 5 - 14, 2024 linked here. We are using this schedule to meet state testing needs, CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress). Please note the changes with the start and end times and when each period will occur. The Math test will be in the first week. The English Language Arts test will be in the second week. The science test will take place during the week of March 18; however, we will be on our regular schedule during that week.

DVHS Parent/Caregiver Information Night
The DVHS Counseling team will host Parent/Caretaker Information Nights, providing valuable insights into the course selection process and preparing your student for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Presentation slides will be posted on the DVHS Counseling website the following day. Your students do not need to attend information night as the information will be presented to all students in their English classes, and counselors will meet with them one-on-one. No RSVP is required for these information nights. Please plan to attend!

DVHS PTSA Exceptional Education Community Events

This is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers of students with IEPs, 504s or other learning differences to connect with other families and SPED Department personnels. DVHS PTSA 2024-2025 Nomination
Each year, we elect DVHS PTSA executive board to serve one-year terms, beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.
DVHS PTSA Elections will take place on March 19th @ the PTSA meeting. The Nominating Committee for the DVHS PTSA met several times in January and February 2024 to consider all eligible candidates for the 2024-2025 term of office. The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for the association’s consideration:

Any programs that hits the 75% received category will receive a bonus of $500 from Athletic Boosters. To run successful programs our teams need to hit their budgets. Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Month
San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of March as Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Month. Prescription medications such as stimulants, sedatives, and opioids hold powerful medical benefits however can have serious consequences and additive risks. Overdoses are on the rise in our community, county and nation. SRVUSD participates in the CA Department of Health Services’ Naloxone Distribution Project and district schools have a stock of the opioid overdose rescue medication Naloxone. SRVUSD encourages drug abuse awareness, education, and prevention of all citizens.

Stanford Tri-Valley Clinical Academy
The Stanford Tri-Valley Clinical Academy is offering a 2-week immersive experience for students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare to learn more about the field of medicine. Participants will learn from Stanford faculty physicians and community physicians in a variety of specialties, as well as various other healthcare professionals, with in-person and hands-on experiences and activities. Scholarship opportunities are available for students who demonstrate financial need or are part of a demographic that is underrepresented in medicine. See flyer for details.
