Student Social Emotional Well Being Questionnaire
|
|
Dear Wildcat Families,
I hope this email finds you well and the 2023-2024 school year is starting well for you and your family! I am writing today with information regarding one of the main topics we focus on as we welcome our students back to school. Our students’ social-emotional health and well-being are at the forefront of everyone’s minds, especially as we begin a new school year. We want to ensure we do everything possible to support our students. To assist with this, we will administer a questionnaire to your student(s)on August 24, 2023. Student responses will inform support and broad interventions to meet all our students' needs.
The questionnaire measures the following positive attributes:
- Joy of Learning
- School Connectedness
- Educational Purpose
- Academic Efficacy
- Overall Student Wellbeing
We will administer the questionnaire twice this year. The windows during which your students will take the questionnaire are as follows:
Quarter One window:
Now - September 1, 2023
Quarter Three window:
February 26, 2024 - March 29, 2024
The first questionnaire will be administered on August 24, 2023. Your student(s) will receive an email explaining the questionnaire. Your student’s 5th-period teacher will present information to them next week, then assign the questionnaire to their classes to be completed through Illuminate.
If you have any questions or concerns or wish to remove your child from completing the questionnaire, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Bassant Abdelrahman
Assistant Principal

Open to All SRVUSD Students (K-12)
Gale Ranch MPR - Sept 14, 2023 - 7:00-8:00pm!
Destination Imagination® (DI) is an outside-of-school, project-based educational program that inspires and equips students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Teams in our program improve in creative thinking, critical thinking and collaborative problem solving. Our participants experience the creative process, develop new friendships and learn to work together.
Students in grades kindergarten through university can participate, with up to seven members per team. All Students in SRVUSD are invited to attend. Each team needs an adult Team Manager who helps students stay on track but does not directly help the team develop their solution to the DI Challenge. Team Managers are typically parents or other volunteers.

Update Your Newsletter Subscription
|
|
If you or your child will be at a different school site this coming school year, please take a moment to update your email list subscriptions to make sure that you receive summer communications. This is necessary because our newsletter/email lists do not get updated until after Labor Day. Just click on the Update Profile link down in the footer of this message and check the lists that you want to be on (and uncheck any you no longer want). This is also the place to update your email address if you've changed it.
|
All are welcome -- parents, family members, students, teachers, staff, and community members. Choose the school or specialty lists that best suit your interests. This is a great time for current 8th-grade families to join their high school lists. High School students interested in receiving their high school newsletters are also welcome to subscribe!
|
|
Parents of 2021 Graduates: You're welcome to stay on the high school list, but if you'd prefer to stop receiving newsletters and school updates, click on the Update Profile link in the council newsletter and uncheck any lists you no longer want to hear from. We encourage you to subscribe to an Alumni Parent list or follow the DVHS PTSA on Social Media.
