Kurt Barnhart, associate dean of research and engagement at K-State Polytechnic, has an update to share on how the campus's and the Salina community's Global Aviation Initiative is moving forward.
The campus administrative team is removing the charge for parking passes allowing students, faculty and staff to park on campus at no cost and all lots to be available to anyone, including guests and vendors.

K-State Polytechnic has joined a new aviation initiative created by the Air Force Junior ROTC that is aimed at boosting enthusiasm for flying among high school students as well as contributing to the industry's pilot shortage solution.

Scholarship opportunities
All Majors
The Leaders Save Lives blood drive runs from June 1 to August 31 . This program is designed specifically for students ages 16-24 years old and allows them to host a blood drive and earn money and possibly win one of six $1,000 scholarships. If students want to work as a team there are limitations but options as well. Please contact Dené Sheridan in the Fiscal Services office if you are interested.
Employee Tuition Assistance
Some K-State employees may be eligible for employee tuition assistance. Up to 3 credit hours of tuition a semester is possible. Must be a full-time (0.9 FTE or above), benefits-eligible position. For more information, visit http://www.k-state.edu/sfa/manage/forms/eta1.pdf .
Dependent/Spouse Grant
Dependents and spouses of full-time (0.9 FTE or above), benefits eligible, regular appointment employees may qualify for the dependent/spouse grant – up to 7 hours for full-time, undergraduate dependents and 3 hours for spouses and graduate dependents. Campus life
The Career Closet at K-State Polytechnic is expanding to include a food pantry and hygiene products for students in need and is now called Cats' Corner.
The Student Life Center is adding to its fitness offerings with a new six-week boot camp class that combines cardio, strength training, core movements and muscle endurance.
