Campus Blood Drive
The K-State Polytechnic Blood Drive is this week! It will be held on Tuesday, February 18 and Wednesday, February 19 in Tech Center 166. As of this time, there are still 42 slots available. Click here to make an appointment. Consider giving blood to help save lives!
Free appetizers for students at Chuck's
K-State Polytechnic Programming Board invites students to attend free appetizer night at Chuck's, located at 600 N. Santa Fe, on Friday, Feb. 21. Up to two free appetizers per student. Must bring your student ID.
Help restock Cats' Corner's shelves
After the holiday season, the shelves of K-State Polytechnic's Cats' Corner are a bit bare. Student Support Services and Upward Bound are asking for your help to restock. Both programs will be putting boxes in each building on campus to collect goods until Saturday, Feb. 22. Some items in high demand include:
  • Microwaveable, quick meals
  • Canned meat: tuna, chicken, ham, etc
  • Chunky soups
  • Ramen
  • Pasta
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Anything else!
Equal Opportunity Fund Packets
The 2019-2020 EOF Packet is now available for student organizations wishing to apply. The deadline to apply for EOF is February 28th. Students are encouraged to contact the SGA office or Julie Rowe with any questions.
Student participants needed for Poverty Simulation
K-State Polytechnic is inviting students to participate in a Poverty Simulation at Kansas Wesleyan University from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29. This simulation is aimed to show people the realities of living below the poverty line during an eye-opening three-hour experience. The event is free for students but they are encouraged to register beforehand here .
34th Annual SGA Awards Banquet
Do you know an inspiring student who is a great campus leader? Do you have an encouraging professor that challenges you to always do your best? Do you work with a diligent staff member? Nominate these deserving Wildcats for the Kansas State Polytechnic Recognition Awards. Honor a student, faculty member or staff member. To nominate one of these individuals, pick up a nomination packet in the Student Life Center. Packets are due to Kari Zook by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13th.
JCPenney offering 30 percent off to students during 'Suit Up' event
K-State Polytechnic is partnering with JCPenney to offer 30 percent off select career dress apparel for students. The "Suit Up" event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. Student ID required for discount.
Volunteer Opportunities
Casino Night
It's almost that time of the year again! The annual Casino Night, sponsored by Programming Board, will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. in the College Center Conference Room. There will be Blackjack, Craps, Bingo, Texas Hold 'Em and Roulette Tables for the evening. Programming Board is looking for volunteers to help run the tables from 6-9 p.m. Everyone will receive a Casino Night T-shirt and food from Aladdin. If interested in helping, contact Kari Zook, the Student Activities Coordinator.

Flight Operations Dispatcher
Pay: $7.25/hr

Description: Check student pilots in and assign aircraft. Dispatch aircraft to students and instructors. Make copies, file paperwork, answer phones, talk on radio and monitor weather. Apply at Flight Ops in the Aero Building, room 128

Flight Line Worker
Pay: $8.75/hr

Description: Responsible for towing aircraft to the flight line from hangars, washing of aircraft, servicing of fuel truck with diesel, 100LL and aircraft tugs with oil, water and fuel. Ensures that aircraft tugs and fuel truck fuel tank are full at the end of the day or shift. Empty trash cans on flight line and in hangars. Sweep hangar floors. Meet transient aircraft and direct to parking spot. Ensure hangar doors are locked and lights are turned off prior to leaving in the evenings.Apply at Flight Ops in the Aero Building, Room 128
Facilities Worker
Pay: $9.00/hr

Description: Position includes a variety of duties, but not limited to setting up furniture and event items, mail run, any type of grounds/landscaping and lawn-maintenance type of work where some physical labor is required. Apply by contacting Jill Serrault.

Engineering Students
Raymond G. Alvine Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship available to a student pursuing a career in mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and be enrolled full-time.
