Testing Center hours expanded during finals week
The Testing Center will be open over the noon hour daily and on Tuesday and Wednesday evening during Finals Week, December 16-20. The hours have been expanded to accommodate additional testing demands for final exams and FAA written exams. Click here to view the full Testing Center availability and to schedule an exam time. Two Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus students received awards at the recent Aero Skills Tournament in Wichita at Exploration Place.
Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus has hired its first executive director of aviation strategy to help position the school as a global leader in the aviation industry.

Intramural three vs. three basketball tournament
Starting on December 3, the SLC will be hosting a basketball tournament. Games will be on Monday's and Thursday's from 6-10 p.m. Sign your team up today in the SLC. Individuals can also sign up and will be placed on a team later. Registrations are due Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m. in the SLC.
Lifting competition results
The results are in! On November 10, over 28 people participated in the lifting competition, many breaking their own personal records. In the Men's Division starting with Class 1, Jay Li, Dawson Counts, Riley Counts earned first, second and third, respectively. In the Class 2, Adam Keefe in first, Lucas Mies in second and Chad Frerichs in third. In Class 3, Jack Kuhn earned first, Nathan Emond with second and Trey Lorenson with third. In Class 4, Logan Sanders, David Lockhart and Wayne Counts earned first, second and third, respectively. In the Women's Division Class 1, Shanna Walker and Reanna Masenthin tied for first, Amy Meiring with second and Cynthia Gathoni with third. Congratulations to everyone who participated.

Scholarship opportunities
All Students
The 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available now. This is the application required for pell grants, federal student loans, federal parent loans and federal work-study. This application will cover the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters. Priority date to apply is December 1. Apply here. Aviation Students
UAA Janice K. Barden Aviation Scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled in an aviation-related program. Applicants must be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Dan L. Meisinger Sr. Memorial Learn to Fly Scholarship is available to students working on initial or primary flight training. Must have a 3.0 or better GPA. Preference is given to Kansas, Missouri or Illinois residents. $2500 award. Deadline: Nov. 29 Apply online here.
Paramount Business Jets is offering three scholarships, up to $1,250 each, for the Spring 2020 semester. Applicants must be a current aviation student. Deadline: Dec. 15. Apply online here.
Pioneers of Flight Scholarship is available to college sophomores or juniors. Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. $1,000 award. Deadline: Dec. 27. Apply online here.
The International Council of Air Shows Foundation is offering a $2,000 scholarship. Applicants must have a sophomore standing. Deadline: Dec. 31. Apply online here.

Employee Tuition Assistance
Award amount is for tuition only in a K-State course for up to 3 credit hours per term. The maximum award amount will not exceed the value of 3 hours at the in-state Manhattan/Salina tuition rate (ie. campus fees, other institutional fees, etc. are the responsibility of the employee).

Dependent/Spouse Grants
Only regular employees are eligible. If you are unsure if you are regular or term, check your contract or with the HR office. This grant is available for fall 2019 and spring 2020, but not in the summer. Apply Here

For dependents or spouses that are enrolled full time in a degree terminating undergraduate program, the award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 7 undergraduate course credits, where full-time for an undergraduate is defined as at least 12 enrolled credit hours per regular fall/spring term.

For spouses that are enrolled part time in a degree terminating undergraduate program the maximum award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 3 undergraduate course credits, where part time for an undergraduate is defined as less than 12 enrolled credit hours per regular fall/spring term. (Enrollment of less than 3 credit hours, will result in the proration of the award i.e. 2 credit hours enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 2 credit hours - or - 1 credit hour enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 1 credit hour. )
Dependents that are enrolled less than full-time in an undergraduate program are not eligible for the K-State Dependent/Spouse Grant.

For dependents or spouses who are enrolled in a degree terminating graduate or veterinary medicine program the maximum award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 3 course credit hours as indicated by the student's degree program, graduate or veterinary medicine. (Enrollment of less than 3 credit hours, will result in the proration of the award i.e. 2 credit hours enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 2 credit hours - or - 1 credit hour enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 1 credit hour.)
