Dear SAS Families,
I hope you all had a great week and are enjoying this beautiful fall weather. It’s hard to believe that we are already heading into the last week of October!
Next Thursday morning, we welcome Prospective Families to SAS for an Open House. We have had a healthy response to the invitation to attend and are looking forward to sharing the excellent Catholic education experience we offer here at Saint Andrew Catholic School! If you know of any families who are interested in learning more about SAS and becoming part of this wonderful, faith-filled community, please share the details of this event (found below in this newsletter) with them or invite them to call and schedule a personal tour of the school anytime. Who better to share the good news of our school than our students, parents, and alumni!
On Friday, we are looking forward to Trunk or Treat hosted by our Home & School Association. As we are not having Fall Parties in the classrooms this year, Trunk or Treat will be a great alternative for our students to enjoy the season! This event is for our students only. For the safety of our students and for crowd control, only parents who signed up to participate in the Trunk or Treat will be permitted to attend. Faculty & staff will be taking lots of pictures which we will share that day on social media and in the Wildcat Weekly. We will have an indoor dismissal that day at 3:20PM. Please see the Trunk or Treat Q & A’s below for more details.
On Monday, November 1st, we are looking forward to our all school, All Saints Day celebration. Students are very excited to share all they have learned and celebrate the lives of the saints as a school community. Information about how each class is participating has been communicated by your students’ teachers. We will be communicating more details about the day’s events early next week.
I pray you all have a safe and relaxing weekend, and we look forward to welcoming our Wildcats back on Monday!
Saint Andrew, Pray for Us!
Blessings,

September Faith Families Service Project
|
|
Many thanks to our wonderful students who cleaned out their piggy banks during the month of September, generously donating spare change to help support our monthly service project.
Together, students collected $1455.96 to benefit St. Dominic Catholic School, New Orleans, LA! St. Dominic sustained significant damage during Hurricane Ida in August, and we hope this gift will help with their recovery efforts.

The Webelos 2 Den of St. Andrew Cub Scout Pack 97 took a trip to City Hall this week. The scouts met with Fort Worth City Councilmember Michael Crain and discussed his role in city government and issues facing our community. They stayed for a portion of the meeting and were recognized by the Council.
This fulfilled a requirement for the Building a Better World merit badge as the Webelos continue their work towards earning their Arrow of Light and becoming Boy Scouts.
In the picture are SAS students Jon Jon Folzenlogen, AJ Simmons, Sean Taylor, Jackson Randolph, Den Leader Robert Folzenlogen (SAS Parent) and Councilman Michael Crain.

From our Principal, Laura Behee:
Among the many important and meaningful traditions in the Catholic Church is the upcoming observation of All Souls Day on November 2nd. We invite you to join us in prayer during the month of November in gratitude for the memories we hold in our hearts of our dearly departed. In the Catholic tradition, we recall them through our shared presence of God as we pray for the repose of their souls. Praying through the great Communion of Saints with the Holy Souls, we lift our minds, our hearts, and our own souls, with them, to the Lord.
This is a time purposely set aside to call to mind those we have known: beloved family and close friends who have touched our lives deeply and significantly. We also remember neighbors, teachers, clergy, other religious, and all who have contributed to our social, physical, intellectual, and spiritual formation. We also honor those we may not know personally but who are worthy of our prayers and remembrance, as well as the lives lost to COVID-19, violence, and unrest in the world.
Please click HERE to send us the names of deceased friends and loved ones. These names will be entered in our Book of Remembrance and we will be praying for them throughout the month of November, specifically during Adoration, praying the Rosary, during morning prayers and Holy Mass.
We give thanks to God for you and for all who have generously and lovingly touched our hearts and lives.

Spiritual Life Committee Marian Statue Program
|
|
Home and School’s Spiritual Life Committee at SAS offers two blessed statues to its families, a Statue of Rosa Mystica and an Immaculate Heart of Mary Statue.
Each week, from a Wednesday afternoon to the following Wednesday morning, two families have the opportunity to take one of these statues home to use as a source of inspiration, prayer and reflection. The tote bag containing the statue also contains suggested prayers. This special tradition will hopefully be one full of meaning and faith for each of you. Pick up and drop off location is the SAS Front Office.
Sign up is ongoing through the school year.
