ADVENT TREES
Every year at Christmas time Advent trees are placed in the front hallway of our school and students fill the branches with items for families in need.

This year the items we donate will go to serve several programs at Catholic Charities Fort Worth, specifically the children and families involved with the Gabriel Project. The Gabriel Project is a ministry that reaches out to women currently going through and also after a crisis pregnancy.
The holiday season is an amazing time of year, one for joy & reflection, but without the support of family & friends and without the ability to meet basic necessities, it can also be a really tough time for many people throughout the Diocese and across the country. Through donation drives like ours, Catholic Charities is able to help more of those in need and provide a joyous holiday season that otherwise would not happen.
Items we are collecting include:

Tree #1 - Toys & stuffed animals
  (Balls,Trucks,Dolls,Small Stuffed animals)
One piece, no assembly, no batteries)

Tree #2 - bottles, baby wash and baby hygiene kits

Tree #3 - sleepers ( size newborn to 4T)

Tree #4 - Socks and underwear

While you are out shopping over the Thanksgiving break please consider buying some of these items to donate to this great cause. We will also collect gently used coats, both children and adult sizes.

The Advent trees will be in the front foyer when you return from Thanksgiving break and we will collect items until Monday, December 10th.
CHARACTER COUNTS AT SAS
Mrs. Mack, SAS Counselor, would like to thank the following SAS students who made “Character Count” by displaying the character trait Respect at school this past month. Character Trait Awards were handed out last Thursday after Mass.

Character Count is a new program that has been implemented this year at SAS. Teachers have been asked to submit one or two names to Mrs. Mack each month for students who possess the monthly character trait. Each month a different character trait will be focused on. The character trait for November is Trustworthiness. Keep up the good work students and continue to make character count.
