ANNUAL FUND OUT OF UNIFORM DAY IS THIS THURSDAY!
We are in the final week of the 2018-2019 Annual Fund Drive.  Our goals for this year's Annual Fund are $230,000 and 100% SAS Family Participation. We are currently at $203,000 with 50% participation.

Thank you to everyone who has already participated in the Annual Fund by making a pledge or donation. If you have not already done so, please consider making an Annual Fund donation in any amount to help us achieve our goals. Every donation helps move us closer toward our goals and makes a difference for all Saint Andrew students.

This Thursday, January 17 th  is an out of uniform day for students of families who have participated in the Annual Fund.  Out of Uniform slips were sent home today, Tuesday, January 15. Donations should be in by Wednesday, January 16 th  to qualify for the out of uniform day. (   Out of uniform slips for donations made on Monday, January 14th and Tuesday, January 15th HAVE NOT been distributed yet.)

Additionally, any homeroom that achieves 100% participation will be treated to a Doughnut Party. The chart below shows the current participation rates by homeroom.

Donations can be made by sending payment to the school office. Please remember to put your family name on any donations sent to the office! For your convenience please click here to print a pledge card. You can also donate online with a debit/credit card.

LUNCH/DINNER OUT FUNDRAISER
NOTES FROM THE NURSES

We hope you have had a smooth beginning of the new year and that your holidays were happy and healthy!

1.      Cold and flu season has started. Please help us prevent the spreading of germs: teach your children to cover their coughs, practice good hand hygiene, and remind them NOT to share food or drinks.

2.      Please refer to the Nurse’s health page on the school website for information regarding when to keep your student home from school.  We understand that keeping your child home for minor illnesses may be an inconvenience and they will miss instruction time, but this is the best way to prevent the spreading of germs.

3.     In the best interest of your child’s health and safety while at school,  if your child has a medical concern (illness or injury) and has doctor’s ordersindicating physical/activity restrictions or other accommodations (such as: no PE, no physical activity, help with carrying heavier loads, limit academic work/testing, etc.),  please provide a copy of the doctor’s order to the nurseprior to or upon your child’s return to school. The nurse will then ensure that teachers and staff who need to know are informed. In addition, when your child has follow-up visits, and the doctor has changed the orders or released him or her from the restrictions or accommodations, an updated doctor’s order is required. Written doctor’s orders/notes help us to know what can (or cannot) be expected of students who have health or medical concerns

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Bette Felder, RN and Michelle Russell, RN

MARIAN STATUES
The Spiritual Life Committee at Saint Andrew Catholic School offers two blessed statues to its families:  A statue of Rosa Mystica and an Immaculate Heart of Mary Statue.

Each week (from Wednesday afternoon to the following Wednesday morning) two families will have the opportunity to take these statues home and use them as a source of inspiration, prayer and reflection. The tote bag containing the statue will also have suggested prayers. This special tradition will hopefully be one full of meaning and faith for each of you.   Click herEventse  to sign up.  Email Karen Schroder if you have any questions.
