October Letter from

Principal Bowen

Celtic harpist, composer, and educator Áine Minogue—presenter through the BarnArts Center for the Arts Global Music Program—visited Bethel Elementary School as a visiting artist. Born in Ireland and holding a Master's Degree in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the University of Limerick, Minogue presented an interactive cultural program titled "Ireland Through the Harp". Her session engaged students through live music, storytelling, movement, and hands-on learning. Students learned about the ancient origins and history of the Irish harp, explored Irish language phrases, drummed and created rhythms, and had the opportunity to touch and play the strings of the harp. Ask your kids about her presentation and if they remember how to say, Goodbye in Irish Slán (slawn)!

Dear South Royalton Elementary Families and Community Members,

October has been a wonderful month at South Royalton Elementary School. The crisp fall air, the changing leaves, and the energy in our hallways have made this a season full of curiosity, connection, and growth. From the classroom to the playground to the athletic fields, our students are learning, exploring, and giving back every day.

Principal Laflamme

Hello Wildcat Community,

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for conferences this week. I really enjoyed the opportunity to connect with so many caregivers, hear how things are going for your students, and have some good conversations about our school. I also heard some genuinely helpful feedback about the conference format itself. We will keep working to fine-tune these events so they better meet your needs, and we’ll carry your ideas with us as we plan future conferences and community events.

A Letter from

Principal Oakes

Greetings Wildcats,

Thanks to everyone who came out for Open House and the WRVHS Fall Showcase this week! I wanted to give special thanks to our Athletic & Performing Arts Boosters and our community partners from Tri-Valley Transit and Vermont Student Assistance (VSAC) Corporation who joined us to share information to support students and families as well as opportunities for family members to get engaged building a strong school community. It was a great evening filled with great conversations and connections. It was also our first opportunity to bring the community in to see some of the updates to our school that have taken place over the summer which included the new High School Secure Entrance and Lobby as well as significant upgrades to the WRVHS Performing Arts Center. We are looking forward to inviting the community back for the fall drama Performance, Antigone, on November 13th and 14th!
