Christy Lecture: Don Mosley, Co-Founder of Habitat for Humanity and Jubilee Partners

Donald Mosley is a co-founder of the Habitat for Humanity organization. Mosley was a Peace Corps volunteer in Malaysia and a regional director in South Korea. With a background in history, math, engineering and anthropology, he helped launch Habitat for Humanity in the 1970s. He has been on their international board of directors since 1995. Read more.

Eat Like a Sociologist: Reflections on Food, Culture and Society by Dr. Kristin Park, professor of sociology, will explore several themes of interest to sociologists and other social scientists when they study food. Identifying and Improving the Way You Lead by Dr. Colleen Merrick, associate professor of communications, will explore different leadership styles and ways to improve how you personally and professionally work with others. Westminster professor’s poem written in response to El Paso shooting published in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A Westminster College professor’s poem written in the days following the Aug. 3 El Paso shooting was recently published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newspaper.

“Breakfast on Our Patio after the Mass Shooting in El Paso,” penned by Dr. David Swerdlow, professor of English, responds to the mass shooting in Texas that claimed the lives of 22 people and injured 24 others. Read the story here.
A Very Long Trail of WC Titans...

First year students began their Westminster College journey at the end of August - but two families stood out to us in particular! Pictured above holding their Longest Legacy Prize high are Conner Dale and Sarah Douds. Connor, part of the McGill family, has a 30-person line of Westminster College graduates in his family; while Sarah takes second place with 18 family members! Kathryn Patterson '15 recently accepted her Pittsburgh 30 Under 30 Award!
Doltyn Snedden '17 has an all-access pass with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Lynyrd Skynard, traveling the world with these legendary rockers on their final tour. He will produce a documentary about the legacy of the iconic American rock band.
Congratulations to  Joe Ligo '16  who has shifted from the fast lane of PBS's "Motor Week" to an ambitious challenge at "Maryland Farm & Harvest."
Women in Bio, a national organization that works to promote women in life sciences careers and leadership, has selected a Pittsburgh woman to serve as its national president.
Rachel Kopper '91  will serve as the organization's national president and board chair ( Read more about that here ) and on a Women in Leadership Panel at the Professional Networking Symposium .
