Last week I spent Friday morning getting a gaggle of middle school trumpeters ready for their placement auditions.
I had each one of them play the audition material in front of all the other trumpet players. We all put our heads together and gave them some pointers. Then they went into the practice room to work out the kinks.
I don't know if professional players like Tony Glausi and Chris Coletti still stress out over chair placement auditions... but now that they are guests on the Trumpet Dynamics podcast we can't resist comparing them.
Tony Glausi's episode got more downloads than any other past episode, earning him the prestigious title of "First Chair." (
Chris Coletti's episode will go live in 2 days, 2 hours, 11 minutes and 45 seconds. Is he going to just stand there and let Tony Glausi be First Chair
forever? Or will he find a way to one-up him?
I'm looking forward to the episode!
Talk to you tomorrow!
