Step Up for Cancer Research
Make your daily steps count! Join the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation Steps to Stop Cancer Summer Challenge. During the month of July, complete this 31-day challenge to walk a minimum of 5,000 steps a day. Track and log your daily progress with wearable fitness tech, like a Fitbit, Apple Watch or your smartphone. Log your miles on your personal fundraising page and earn fun prizes! Make sure to share your progress on social media to help encourage others to participate.

By joining our Steps to Stop Cancer Summer Challenge you are funding research to unlock a brighter future for the 1.9 million Americans who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. In the hour it takes to walk 5,000 steps, 240 people will face the fear of a cancer diagnosis, your daily steps will help turn that fear to hope.

Who will you walk for? Take the Summer Challenge and honor someone special that has been impacted by cancer.

Honoring Legendary Cartoonist Charles Schulz

CARES is honored to partner with Snoopy’s Home Ice in Santa Rosa, California, to celebrate the 100th birthday of beloved Peanuts creator Charles “Sparky” Schulz, and bring our Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ program to Sparky’s ice rink where he loved to play hockey. Together with the Schulz family, we will be hosting a community Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Frozen 5k on Friday, November 25, 2022, and a Celebration Ice Show hosted by Scott Hamilton on Saturday, November 26 - what would have been Sparky’s 100th birthday.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this legendary event.
What were you doing in 1984? Scott Hamilton won an Olympic Gold Medal and began a herculean journey to honor his mother who died of cancer. We might not be able to win a gold medal, but all of us can honor someone we love and help transform the future of cancer by donating $19.84 a month to help fund innovative cancer research that is dedicated to sparing the patient the harm of traditional treatments. Please help us provide hope to cancer patients everywhere.
