Praying for our Kids & Learning to Live Like Jesus
This Sunday, Learning to Live Like Jesus
“God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus. ” ― Max Lucado

This Sunday, we're going to be studying this idea from Max Lucado and how we, as modern-day people, often hear that first part - that God loves us just the way we are, but then refuse to hear the rest - that he refuses to leave us as we are.
"1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." - Philippians 2: 1-4
To help us dissect this, we'll be studying Paul's message to the church at Philippi to learn how we can learn to live more like Jesus - in harmony and humility. We'll see you Sunday morning, at 8:15 or 10:45, in person or online!

Prayers Appreciated: Onward Kids Weekend Starts Tonight!
Our Onward Kids Weekend started this evening, and dozens of our HFUMC Kids will spend the next three nights at the church for a fun- and spirit-filled Onward Kids Weekend! Tomorrow, they're headed to Fall Creek Falls for a day of hiking, and Saturday, K-2nd grade day campers will join for an abbreviated Vacation Bible School event. Please join us in praying for the health and safety of our Kids and their counselors and leaders, and a meaningful and spirit-filled weekend!
Mission Moment: Your Gifts Matter!
We recently completed our virtual reading program through Project Transformation with students at Matthews Memorial UMC. Thanks to technology - Microsoft Teams and shared books online via the Booknook app - we were able to engage with the students and help them develop their love for reading.

We want to give a special thanks to our missions committee for financially supporting the 15 student kits we delivered, as well as all of the volunteers:
  • Carol Atkins
  • Susan Bunn
  • Bonnie Gaeth
  • Blayne Howser
  • Karen Tugwell
  • Stacy Allen
  • Ken Richardson, who handles the background checks
