Dear Flying Fish community:

The Oz Relay is Saturday, May 16.

This is a daylong swim (you only need to swim for 30 minutes) that honors the memory of Flying Fish swim coach and instructor Oswald "Oz" Roper. More important, it raises money for financial aid for swim lessons.

Oz was with me in the early days of the Flying Fish and he passionately believed that all children should learn to swim and have the opportunity to develop their swimming abilities without limitations.

The money we raise from the Oz Relay and other events in his name allow us to strengthen our support of children who might not otherwise learn to swim.

As you know, swimming is beneficial in many ways, but in a lakefront community like ours, it's also an important public health and safety issue.
