Archdeacon's Fund for Education

The Archdeacon's Fund for Education provides financial support for Postulants and Candidates in our diocese who are studying to become Deacons in the Episcopal Church. Episcopal Deacons are not typically paid for their church work. They are expected to support themselves and their families through other means, such as secular employment, retirement savings, or pensions. During the process of discernment and formation for ordained ministry, Postulants and Candidates often struggle to pay for their education and the associated costs of the ordination process.

Currently only at 41% of their goal of $5,000

Help the Archdeacons Fund reach their goal!

The appeal funds will help achieve the goal of making it possible for Postulants and candidates for the Diaconate to pursue their call without regard to their financial situation. The funds would be used to offer partial scholarships (for tuition, books, training, and associated formation costs) to Postulants and Candidates in the ordination process who are studying to become Deacons in the Episcopal Church.

Camp Living Waters,

St. Alban's, Arcata

Camp Living Waters is a yearly one-week non-profit Episcopal camp in Redwood Valley, Humboldt County. It is a loving, Spirit-filled week based around daily Worship, Bible study, swimming, crafts, outdoor games and nightly campfire where creativity and joy rule. We stargaze, we sing, we eat nutritious delicious food. This past year our theme, which guides our worship, Bible study, and other activities was Space Camp: To Godfinity, and Beyond! and we are brainstorming a theme for next year! We structure our Worship and Bible study around helping kids explore their faith and ask questions. We work to be a place where kids have fun and make lifelong friends while building a Christian community where values of love, compassion, charity, tolerance, cooperation and faith are lived. We seek to show kids the value of Christian faith and community, and to teach them how to live those values out in the world beyond Camp. We hope that this will encourage kids to maintain a connection to the Church, and follow the path of Christ in their lives.

Currently only at 48% of their goal of $1,200

The funds will be used to provide 6 Camperships (registration scholarship) to families who cannot otherwise afford the $200 registration fee, including low-income and foster families.

Episcopal Foundation of

Northern California

The Foundation oversees a cluster of investment funds that have been established by bequests and donations from individuals for the benefit of their parishes and the Foundation. Since its inception, the Foundation has facilitated gifts worth over $40 million from individuals to parishes and organizations within our Diocese. The Foundation also administers a number of grant programs, through which we are able to make much-needed gifts of funds to organizations in our Diocese. When we help parishioners establish an endowment fund for their church, we help them enrich their stewardship and discipleship by committing to a long-term, meaningful legacy gift that will live long after them. Our grants, made both in the name of a grantor who established a legacy fund, or directly from the Foundation’s own reserves, helps those who receive these funds to be more empowered in their ministries in their local communities. Their investments of time and effort do indeed transform their communities in the name of Christ.

Currently only at 4% of their goal of $50,000

Help EFNC reach their goal!

The Foundation’s goal is to give as much money as is prudently possible to as many ministries – large and small, ongoing and start-up – as we can, so that the combined visions of transformation shared by all ministries in this Diocese may be realized. The more money we have to spend, the greater our support can be.

The Foundation is asking donors to help support our grant programs, which are funded by the Foundation’s own unrestricted assets: Mustard Seed Grants: Begun in 2020, are $500 grants to promote and support small ministries at the congregation level in our Diocese. These grants are available to parishes, missions, and other Episcopal organizations in the Diocese. Foundation Grants: The Foundation has granted $200,000 to this grant program during 2021 and 2022 to help our faith communities realize our diocesan mission.

Your support will help our Church become more vital and better able to reach out and engage in the work God calls us to do while honoring our mission of "Making Disciples, Raising up Saints & Transforming Communities for Christ."
