City Hall Chamber Room named after Longtime Auditor
Williston Economic Development - Construction crews are wrapping up the renovations at City Hall. New signage is now in place featuring two lighted City of Williston logos in the new chamber room and lobby. The chamber room has also been named after longtime city auditor John Kautzman, who retired in late 2019. The July 28 Williston City Commission meeting will be held in the John Kautzman Chamber Room.
Williams County allocates Additional $400,000 for Seed Cleaning Facility
Williston Heral d - Williams County will contribute an additional $400,000 toward the cost of building a seed-cleaning facility and a greenhouse at the Williston Research Extension Center. Williams County Commissioners decided unanimously to award more money to the projects during their regular session on Tuesday, July 7. Read More
Williston, Watford City, Crosby receive Federal Funds for Trails

News Releas e - The North Dakota Department of Transportation Director Bill Panos announced today the award $2,018,090 of Transportation Alternatives funding for transportation improvement projects across the state. Projects in northwestern North Dakota include the following: Williston – River and Park Accessibility Trail Connections – $74,860; Watford City/McKenzie County – 2nd Avenue SW Multi-Use Path – $200,000; Crosby/Divide County – Multi-Use Path – $199,088. Taco John's closes in Watford City
KUMV-TV - Just six years after Taco John’s opened a location in Watford City, area residents were shocked to read a sign announcing the immediate closing of the fast food restaurant on the business’s front door on Thursday, July 2. According to Wendy Howe, Preferred Restaurant Group director of marketing, the decision to close the Watford City store was based on a decline in traffic and sales. Read More

McKenzie County Farmer - First International Bank & Trust (FIBT) has expanded its Mineral and Land Services department with the purchase of Krown Energy Group, proprietor of leading mineral management software, MineralTracker. Wind Energy creates Jobs in North Dakota
Minot Daily News - When falling commodity prices shook the oil industry earlier this year, oilfield company Neset Consulting took stock of the energy market in North Dakota and saw a diversification opportunity with wind. Partnering with Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, Neset Consulting launched an extension of the school’s wind technician training program at its Tioga facility in June. Read More
Main Street Market returns July 11

News Rele ase - T he Williston Downtowners Association's Main Street Market will return to Downtown Williston this weekend. The market will be held in the former Hedderich's lot. It will feature vendors with produce, jelly, crafts and more. The market will be held on Saturdays from July 11 to October 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. Read More
Connecting Communities BBQ July 15 in Williston
The community is invited to attend the Connecting Communities BBQ's on Wednesday, July 15 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Davidson Park. The BBQ's are free and open to the public. Sponsored by Western Region Economic Development, Rotary Club, Lions Club and Cherry Creek Radio.
S'more Wine July 16 in Downtown Williston
Williston Downtowners Associ ation - S'more Wine will be be held July 16 from 7:30 - 10 p.m. at the Hedderich's Lot in Downtown Williston. Enjoy an evening filled with conversations, s'mores, and wine while gathered around fire pits! There will also be a silent auction. Gather six friends and reserve a fire pit for $200 which includes two glasses of wine per person and your own s'more bar. Individual tickets are also available. Bakken Summer Rides July 25, August 1, August 8
News Release - Join us in exploring a few of the best tourist stops in Western North Dakota on three special Bakken rides this summer. The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. at 18 Main Street.
