Williston Airport Enplanements up 19.9 Percent
News Release - Sloulin Field International Airport posted a 19.9% increase in total revenue passengers for May 2019 as compared to May 2018. Total available seats increased by 19.0% while load factors increased by 0.4%. Year to date, the Airport is up 18.1% in total revenue passengers and down 1.4% in load factor, while seeing an increase of 19.2% total seats. Read More

Williston Economic Development - Williston Economic Development (WED) has hired two students from Gonzaga University (GU) for the summer. Sarah Dobler and Rayce Vergets joined the WED team on Tuesday, May 28.  Williston and GU are celebrating the seventh anniversary of the summer internship program. In all, 16 students are in Williston for summer internships. More than 90 students have participated in the program since its inception. This is the fourth summer WED has been involved in the program. Read More
Walker named Director of Upper Missouri River Region Dispatch Center
The City of Williston has announced Derrick Walker has been named the Director of the Upper Missouri River Region Dispatch Center.
Williston Herald - The Upper Missouri River Region Dispatch Center is growing under new leadership, as Williston announced a director for the organization.
Derrick Walker has been named as director for the dispatch center, which is focused on providing 911 dispatch service to northwest North Dakota. The dispatch center is governed by a board of stakeholders from surrounding communities participating in the effort to expand and improve emergency dispatch services in the region.  Read More
Messer Dental building New Facility; Cummins Williston celebrates Grand Opening

Williston Economic Development - Construction is underway on a new office building for Messer Dental in Williston. The project is located near the ProMed Plaza and 20/20 Professional Center. Meanwhile, city leaders, including Williston Mayor Howard Klug (pictured right), helped Cummins Inc celebrate the grand opening of its Williston facility on Thursday, June 6, 2019.
Little Free Pantry opens at Williston Community Library

KUMV-TV - A small tool with a big task, the Little Free Pantry in Williston is a crowd-sourced way one Williston woman is addressing a local need. Anyone in town can take what food or toiletries they need, and give when they can at the pantry located in front of the Public Library. Little Free Pantry is a nationwide project, and creator of Little Free Pantry Williston Lakin Mahar says the success of the project in Bismarck will make it a success in Williston. Read More
DAWA Solutions Group celebrates Grand Opening of New Location

Williston Economic Development - DAWA Solutions Group celebrated a ribbon cutting and grand opening of its new office space at 820 2nd St W. on Friday, May 31. DAWA is a business consulting firm in Williston. It will celebrate its 20th anniversary in August. The new office space will house DAWA staff on the main floor and Rough Neck Coffee roasting equipment in the basement.
Affordable Housing Shortage continues in Williston

KUMV-TV - Local real estate brokers say Williston is in its own bubble when it comes to the home sales. They say with so many people coming to the area, Williston is still trying to catch up with demand for single-family dwellings, and they don't really know when that will end. Brokers say having 99 active properties available to sell in an area of 30,000 people is very low, and it's driving up the average price of homes. Read More

Williston Herald - Great opportunities often come with great challenges, and that is the case with North Dakota's up and down energy industry. Studying those challenges and opportunities with a fresh eye is the aim of a relatively new group on the scene, the University of North Dakota Energy Hawks. Nine students in different disciplines, including petroleum engineering, public health, space studies, computer science, political science, accounting and economics, and more were in Williston Tuesday for a portion of their 10-week internship. Read More
