Williston City Commission approves $137,500 in STAR
Fund Grants for Seven Projects
| Williston Economic Development -The Williston City Commission has approved up to $137,500 from the Williston STAR Fund to assist seven projects. The grants were approved at the Williston City Commission meeting on Tuesday, September 26th. A real estate holding company received up to $60,000 from the C4 Façade Incentive program to update the exteriors of three downtown Williston buildings. Cooper Capital LLC has purchased the buildings at 112, 114, and 116 Main Street. | |

Applications for Community Enhancement Grants due December 15th | Williston Economic Developoment - The Williston City Commission has announced that the Williston STAR Fund is now accepting applications for the 2024 Community Enhancement (CE) grant program. The commission approved up to $50,000 for requests at its meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The CE program offers financial assistance for eligible nonprofit projects and organizations that improve the quality of life in the Williston trade region. | |

IEDC visits Williston Economic Development | Three individuals from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) visited Williston Economic Development this week to provide consultative advice on the structure of the organization and its strategic plan. The IEDC met with local and regional officials including educators, business owners, developers, health care officials, lenders, elected officials, and other community stakeholders to gain an understanding of the community’s strengths and opportunities. The group's recommendations will be considered for current and future economic development strategies in Williston. | |

West Region Economic Development seeks Applications for Board |
Western Region Economic Development is seeking candidates interested in serving on the board of directors. There is 1 seat that will become available in the month of October. Candidates from the building, real estate, and manufacturing industries and businesses at large are being sought for this vacancy. WRED is a non-profit organization funded through valued memberships, grants, sponsorships, and STAR Fund dollars. The board of directors is comprised of economic development representatives from Divide, McKenzie, Mountrail and Williams Counties as well as business leaders from western North Dakota.

Basin Electric breaks ground on Largest Single-site Electric Generation Project built in 40 Years near Williston | News Release - Nearly 100 cooperative members, employees, community members, and dignitaries gathered Sept. 11 to break ground on Basin Electric’s largest single-site electric generation project to be built in North Dakota in 40 years. As a commitment to the delivery of reliable and affordable electricity, Basin Electric is building about 580 megawatts (MW) of natural gas generation near the existing Pioneer Generation Station northwest of Williston, N.D. The project is referred to as Pioneer Generation Station Phase IV. | |

SAVE THE DATE - The Williston Basin Petroleum Conference will return to Bismarck in 2024. The WBPC is the largest Bakken conference and expo in the world, featuring more than 60 speakers, more than 250 vendor booths, and more than 2,500 attendees.
