The Gonzaga University - Williston Summer Internship program will celebrate its seventh anniversary this summer. The program was designed to help curb the labor shortage while providing unique career training opportunities. About a dozen students have participated in the program each year. WSC sets New Spring Enrollment Record

News Release - Record enrollment continues at Williston State College with 1,223 registered students for the Spring 2019 semester according to census totals released Feb 5. The  census totals demonstrate that enrollment at WSC continues to increase. The spring 2019 numbers represents WSC's highest ever reported enrollment. "Record enrollment for WSC is exciting," said Kaylyn Bondy, Vice President for Student Affairs. "Being part of a team and having the WSC Foundation promote student enrollment, retention, and success is rewarding not only to students, but to the campus and our community." Read More
Economic Development expects New Announcements in Spring

KUMV-TV - KUMV-TV caught up with Williston  Economic Development executive director Shawn Wenko at 1 Million Cups on Wednesday. Wenko said economic growth has been a lot slower than they'd like, but the important thing to note is that franchise retail and food-service entities are very interested in planting rootsin the city.  "The last 10 years we grew so quickly as a community, and now we are in this phase of really catching up to adding things that make a community a community," states Wenko.  Read More

Williston Herald - The mysteries of mineral rights often prompted questions from family and friends who knew that Jeff Kummer and Joel Brown are petroleum engineers. Economic Development to unveil Digital Community Guide

The community guide is designed to attract more job seekers to Williston. 
Williston Economic Development - Williston Economic Development is preparing to unveil a new digital community guide that will provide a nice visual overview of the community.    "The website will focus on workforce attraction," said WED Program Development Coordinator, Ann Kvande. "We want to load it up with photos to show we offer a friendly environment with a lot of ways to get involved in our community." 

Gonzaga University Students seek Summer Internships in Williston

T he flier is for Gonzaga University students interested in an internship opportunity in the Williston region.
The Williston-Gonzaga University Internship Program is seeking career opportunities in the Williston region. The 2019 session will run May 24 through August 2. Watford City Juniors meet with Area Employers

McKenzie County Farmer - The Cooperative Work Experience program at Watford City High School offered a Career Fair at the Rough Rider Center that brought over 80 high school juniors and 15 area employers. Scott Wisness, the high school's CWE advisor, said the Career Fair was a perfect way to bring students and prospective employers together. Wind Energy Firm settles into Minot Industrial Park
Minot Daily News - Watco Supply Chain Services, a wind energy company, is the Minot Area Development Corporation's newest tenant at the Industrial Park of Minot. A Watco Companies subsidiary, the Arkansas-based division officially launched in 2014.  The company entered into an agreement with MADC in late 2018 to lease 76 acres of land at the industrial park in northeast Minot for two years. Watco Supply Chain Services is using the land as a staging and deployment location for a future wind turbine development. Read More

The 34th annual show will feature campers, boats, ATVs, hunting and fishing guides, outdoor equipment, cooking equipment and a Kid Zone at the Raymond Family Community Center.

04/12 ----- Marketplace for Kids
Elementary students will showcase their startups and learn about running businesses from area business leaders.

04/27 ------ Clean Up Williston
Volunteers are encouraged to sign up to clean a specific zone or attend the clean up on Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Davidson Park.
