From the desk of the President...

As we move into February, we should once again thank and congratulate those who were recognized at our 93rd Annual Meeting on January 26:  Colleen King (The Action Group) was named our Ambassador of the Year, Walter Earle (NC Cooperative Extension) was awarded the Avante at Wilson Lifetime Membership, Dell Joyner (Joyner's Funeral Home) was named our Distinguished Citizen of the Year, and Wes Berry (BB&T) passed the gavel to Gary Davis (Gary Q. Davis State Farm Insurance) to become the 2017 Chairman of the Board of Directors.  While there was a lot to celebrate in 2016, now our full attention is fixed on what lies ahead.
 
A number of ribbon cuttings await, as well as our first Accelerated Networking Luncheon of 2017 on February 17.  We're excited to welcome NC Commissioner of Insurance Mike Causey to the Chamber on February 28 as part of our Public Policy Series presented by The Action Group.  Then, on March 4, we'll see you at one of our premier events:  the Wilson Spring Expo presented by Greenlight Community Broadband.  Be sure to come to the Expo hungry:  this year it includes our first ever Big Pig Shindig, with all you can eat barbecue!  See you then!

Gary Davis is the Owner of Gary Q. Davis State Farm Insurance Agency Inc. Gary enjoys being a member of the Chamber because of the opportunity to meet other business owners that share the same passion and enthusiasm as he does to be the very best at what he does as well as serving the community. His favorite program at the Chamber is the Accelerated Networking Luncheon as it gives business owners like himself an opportunity to showcase services and products that may be of benefit to them. A personal goal of Gary's as a Board Member in 2017 is to meet as many current Chamber members as he can throughout the year and offer any assistance on behalf of the Board.
