A Closer Look at Land Clearing
With the addition of our new Land Clearing Division, we now have the necessary skills and equipment to remove obstacles such as trees, logs, stumps and other vegetation that prohibit use of land.
There are many techniques for clearing land, including mulchers, bulldozers, excavators and burning vegetation. Brush control can be achieved through techniques such as chemical spray application, and with special equipment like the Brontosaurus Brush Mower.
There are inherent dangers to climbing and cutting trees, which require climbers to be certified. Members of the crew from Cummings & Son Land Clearing are certified climbers, and certain new employees working in this division will need certification as well.
Land clearing work comes with its fair share of obstacles - including uneven terrain to navigate...
...but it can also provide opportunities to find some artistic gems in nature.
We are excited to offer this new service, and we look forward to working on upcoming projects in this division.

Safety Topic
Good Catch/Near Miss
The more good catches and near misses that we are talking about and learning from, the better chance we have of identifying hazards and preventing future issues. Our motto has always been "see something, say something," but if we can all learn from each other, it will help push us to the next level.
Every Good Catch/Near Miss submission is put into a drawing each month for a $100 Visa Gift Card!
Leaders in Safety
If there is anyone who stands out for always doing the right thing (actively caring for people, upholding our high standards), we would like to recognize them as a Leader in Safety. If you have someone in mind, please nominate them to your foreman or supervisor.
Leaders in Safety are eligible to be in the running for the yearly Safety Award.
