Don’t Forget the FREE Opening Ceremony
Following in true Olympic fashion, the Alabama State Games takes pride in the Opening Ceremony, which features Olympic traditions such as the Parade of Athletes, the running of the Olympic Torch, and lighting of the Olympic Flame. The Opening Ceremony will showcase the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission which put men on the moon, and the 200th anniversary of the State of Alabama. Hunstville played a large part in both of these events. The Opening Ceremony will be televised live, statewide, and include an exciting mix of hi-tech lasers and pyrotechnics, musical entertainment, and will feature mascots and other fun entertainment. A complete schedule of events can be found by visiting the  Alabama State Games Opening Ceremony webpage.
