Something to look forward to: Beginning January 17th and running through February 5th, there is the opening reception at the Salisbury Association showcasing the exhibit of SWSA's First 100 years.
Heard around town: After 17 years, The Norfolk Pub is closing at the end of January. The local hotspot will be greatly missed by the community.
Looking for something to keep you busy: Winter classes begin Jan. 12 at Taconic Learning Center, a nonprofit membership organization providing lifelong learning opportunities in the Northwest Corner.
Annual membership dues of $60 per person are fully tax-deductible. There are no other set fees. Individuals may sign up for any number of courses. Classes lasting two hours are held once a week at one of three venues.

Updating the emergency vehicles: The Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department is looking to replace two older vehicles with a custom mini pumper and a rescue pumper. They are currently reviewing bids on building the new trucks.
