ARIZONA BREAKFAST BREADS FROM HOME
The Great Crusader Cookoff celebrates our Arizona ministry partnerships!
As we continue our year-long celebration of the Build Here, Build There program's Missions Learning partners, after months of globe trotting, for the January professional development, we're returning home to Arizona!
Beginning with the Sutton Project, as well as the dozens of Christ-centered ministry partners that fuel Missions Learning at each grade-level, we're going to be enjoying Arizona connections and Arizona cuisine.
The competition will be focused on breakfast breads baked with an Arizona flair. We're looking forward to muffins, scones, danishes, loaves, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and breads of various types! To emphasize the Arizona aspect of the competition, consider including an Arizona-grown ingredient: peppers, prickly pear, spinach, tomatoes, onions, citrus, melons, dates, pecans, etc. Submissions may be either sweet or savory. As you craft your plans, recognize that we won't be able to provide a means of keeping your items cold or hot.
Two categories of judging:
- Best overall breakfast bread
- Best Arizona-themed breakfast bread
Each category will have a first place winner ($750) and a second place winner ($500).
Food may be dropped off in Room 101 between 7:30 and 8:00am. Judging will take place between 7:30 and 8:30am. We will be enjoying and sampling the breads, as well as enjoying Arizona-roasted coffees, at 9:00am.
