On Monday, May 15, 2023, the City’s contractor will begin removal of the Island Street Bridge. The bridge will now be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. The bridge will be closed for the entirety of the bridge removal and replacement work. The expected re-opening date is mid-December 2023.
There are a number of signed detours in place for road users to find their way to Winchester Street, West Street, and Pearl Street. Maps are available on the project website to help guide users.
