BREAKING NEWS: ST. THOMAS FISH FRY

Our teens showed up in full force—serving fish, washing dishes, and generally being heroic humans! Then, in true Friday-fish-fry drama, someone fainted after fasting. The Waterford Rescue Squad arrived and soon equipment was everywhere! Did this stop the fish fry? Absolutely not! Our teens, now officially known as The "Cod Squad" leapt into action! They hurdled emergency equipment, moved orange cones, redirected drive-through traffic, and even jogged down the block when the fire truck blocked our normal pickup lane.

Result:

✔ Person fully recovered

✔ Fish fry continued

✔ Not a single customer lost

We are incredibly proud of these teens and their calm, quick action. Cod Squad: saving dinner, one fish fry at a time.

First Communion Retreat 2026

FIRST COMMUNCION RETREAT: Our parishes’ First Communion candidates attended a retreat on Saturday, March 7, celebrating their year of preparation for the sacrament. Together with their families, the students participated in a church scavenger hunt, decorated a small loaf of unleavened bread to break and share in prayer with their family, put the finishing touches on their candles, and—most importantly—demonstrated their learning during a one-on-one interview with a catechist. Thank you to the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly: Alecia Christiansen, Julieane Cook, Lizzie Cook, Carole Duve, Travis Edwards, Caitlin Garnier, Greta Gorenc, Abby Gottfried, Landon O’Dwyer, Jane Smith, Kaci Smith. Landon Snifka and Ben Wieczorek. The First Communion Mass will take place at St. Clare on Sunday, April 26th, during the 9:30 AM Mass and at St. Thomas on Sunday, May 3rd, during the 11:15 AM Mass. Click above to view highlight reel.

PRESCHOOL FAITH FORMATION: In alignment with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s commitment to protecting our youth, we have enhanced the “Safeguarding All of God’s Children” program. Students in grades K4 through 12 in our schools and Faith Formation Programs recently received information on self-protection and situational awareness. To celebrate the gift of life and our miraculous bodies, we also held a special birthday celebration for the children in the Sun-Rays, Moon-Beams, and Star-Lites classes. We discussed God's blessings and the gift of life. We discussed how our bodies; our hands, feet, eyes, and ears are gifts from God! Students celebrated with cupcakes, pin the halo on the angel and received a special birthday book! During this Lenten Season preschoolers continue in their scripture lessons reflecting on the life of Christ.
