Windows 10 Suggestion
As your Trusted IT Advisor, Contigo Technology (formerly Loop1) would like to inform all of our clients about the new Windows 10 Free Upgrade Announcement.
On June 2nd, 2015, Microsoft released a free upgrade of Windows 10 to all Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1 machines . Depending on how you have set up your patching preferences, you may see the Windows logo icon in the right corner of the system tray. If you hover over the new icon it will say "Get Windows 10" and present you with the choice of upgrading your machine to Windows 10.
Here are our suggestions. If your organization uses mostly web based applications such as Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, DropBox and browsers, Windows 10 will not effect your day to day operations. However, if your organization uses items such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Standard, Tax and Financial software, this upgrade could effect you and your team greatly, and we recommend holding off for now.
If your users have already clicked Yes to Windows 10, they can simply cancel the upgrade before July 29, 2015. It's an easy process that we're happy to walk them through it.
If you have questions about Windows 10 and it's deployment throughout your organization, please send an email to email@example.com, and we'll set up a discussion.
