Easter Banner Art

The Covenant sanctuary was adorned with breathtaking art for our Easter services. Learn more about meaning behind the banners created by Covenant Member and artist Ron Boozer. Look for more information soon about visiting the sanctuary to enjoy the artwork live.

Next Wednesday: A Conversation with the Arts Task Force

Covenant’s Arts Task Force has been working throughout the past months to better understand the history of our stained glass windows and the significance of those people depicted in them. This valuable work has led to conversations about the history of the confederacy and its symbols and how to faithfully respond at this time in history.

Join for a conversation and opportunity to learn and grow on April 14, 21, 28, where we will learn about the figures depicted in the windows and their stories, learn from Dr. Karen Cox about symbols in the confederacy, and learn of other institution’s responses.

Staff Update: Kim Lee Accepts a New Call

Kim Lee, Director of Children’s Ministry, has resigned her position to accept a call back into the classroom at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church. During this past challenging year, Kim has engaged Covenant’s young children and their families with remote programs and events, including book studies; mission activities; children’s chapel; and milestone growth opportunities, like Ready Set Worship, preparation for first communion, introduction to baptism, and the presentation of bibles for third graders.

Reflecting on her time at Covenant, Kim says “words cannot adequately describe the generosity of spirit that marks the people and ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church.”

Kim’s last day at Covenant will be Sunday, April 25, 2021. The Personnel Committee is working on a transition plan and will provide details as they become available.
