Summer Adult Sunday School starts this week

  • Discover the political and economic landscapes of ancient cities Thessaloniki, Galatia, Rome and Corinth. What lessons can we draw to better understand today's climate?
July: People of Faith 
  • Meet important - but often overlooked - contributors such as Moses, Mary, Noah and Lydia. How did their contributions influence the early Christian movement?
August: Practices of Faith 
  • Consider the meaning behind fasting, pilgrimage, evangelism and prophecy. Why do we still talk about these things after 2,000 years?

Urban Ministry Center, Men's Shelter have merged
The combined organization will oversee two year-round homeless shelters, coordinate Room In The Inn, and also run a drug treatment program at Moore Place in the North End neighborhood.  

Director Liz Clasen-Kelly says the new name "describes our combined work in a simple and aspirational way." 

How we can help: Make Texas Hash casseroles, cookies and brownies and bring to the church on any Wednesday in June from 11 a.m. to noon. Staff will be on the patio to greet you.
  • Jessica and Ben Mallicote will host a virtual Texas Hash Cooking Show on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. There will be some fun videos about the shelter ministry and how folks have been involved over the years.  

Freedom School asks for books, supplies
Drop off at the church by Thursday
Responding to COVID-19, Freedom Schools will pivot to outdoor pop-up camps around the city from June 29 to July 31. Please drop off new or gently used books and supplies in the bin outside the Welcome Center before noon on Thursday. Details here.

Dove's Nest needs cloth masks
Support a Covenant mission partner

An Elder Nominating Committee is seeking nominees for Elder and Youth Elder. The church will elect 10 adults and two youths for terms beginning in January 2021.
