Tonight! New season of Open Table kicks off 
You're invited to a new season of Open Table! Dinner is every Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by programs for all ages at 6:30 p.m. Here's what is happening tonight:
  • Open Table Kickoff Night: Why do we sing? How do we sing? What should we sing? How do we get better? Worship is active and we are the participants! Come sing, and laugh and think about our calling to worship God through song.
  • Tonight's Menu: Burgers, hot dogs, chicken, baked beans, slaw, sundaes

Sunday marks the return of Covenant's full worship schedule. Communion is at all services.

Wiley Cash will speak on Convocation Sunday
Two opportunities to hear popular author
Wiley Cash's new book offers an opportunity for local Christians to wrestle with our faith commitments and how they inform how we engage issues of employment,
race, gender, the church and local politics. All are welcome. Details here.
  • Wiley will deliver the Twitty Lecture at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
     
  • He will also speak in the 11 a.m. Fellowship Hall service.
Sunday School welcomes children to new year

Congregational meeting is coming up
Sunday, Sept. 16 at 10:30 a.m.
A congregational meeting will be held to elect 10 adult elders to the Session class of 2021 and two Youth Elders to serve one-year terms beginning Jan. 1. A slate of nominees has been developed by the Elder Nominating Committee. Additionally, nominations may be made from the floor. The nominee must consent and be present.

This week! Hit the road with new Covenant Running Club
First run is tomorrow
Whether you're an experienced runner or totally new to the sport, we would love to have you. Each session, in addition to a run, will include an uplifting devotional and a time for prayer. Beginning Sept. 6, we will meet Thursdays at 6:45 p.m. and Tuesdays at 6:15 a.mDetails here.

Sisters in Spirit welcomes Dr. Hayes Woollen
Breakfast is Tuesday at 7 a.m. in Fellowship Hall
Women are invited for faith stories and topics that impact our world. Dr. Hayes Woollen will talk about brain health and staying healthy as we age. Hayes is the son of Covenant members Tom and Velva Woollen. He will be joined by Dr. Charles Edwards. Details here.

Reserve your spot for a weekend in the mountains
Fall retreats are Oct. 10-12
Escape to the mountains for a fall weekend with Covenant friends. Families will stay at Camp Grier while Young Adults and Youth will have their own gatherings. On Saturday night, all Covenant groups will convene after dinner for a campfire, singing and s'mores. Details here.

Afternoon Receptionist - Administrative Assistant
Hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Mon-Thurs, 8:30 to 3 p.m. Fridays
Based at the front desk in the Sanctuary building, join the team to greet visitors, receive phone calls and help with office-related tasks. Details here.
