Adult Summer Sunday School welcomes Rabbi Klass

We're hearing from scholars, teachers and preachers as we explore  Divine Hospitality and Finding God in the Company of Strangers
  • This week, Rabbi Dusty Klass (right) on Biblical Hospitality in the Hebrew Bible
  • Aug. 19 - Jessica Patchett on Biblical Hospitality in the New Testament
  • Aug. 26 - Rodney Sadler on Biblical Hospitality and its Call to Contemporary Churches
Organ concert features Clara Gerdes
Sunday at 7 p.m.
An organ scholar at St. Mark's in Philadelphia, Clara studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. She is a native of Davidson, NC. Admission is free and all are welcome.
  • Sunday worship: Doug Bacon, flute, will play the offertory anthem at 11 a.m.
Meet a mission partner: Urban Ministry Center
Tour is today from noon to 1 p.m.

While you are shopping for school supplies, consider buying extra items for children in the care of our partners - at Highland (Charlotte), Crossnore Elementary (Avery County, NC) and Renguti School (Kenya).
  • Red, blue or green notebooks and pocket folders, pencils, crayons/markers, hand sanitizer, tissues, Post-it notes
  • Blessing of the Backpacks is Aug. 26: Bring your school bags to worship and pray for God's blessings on a new school year.
