New StoryWalk Book

Our new book this month for StoryWalk is “And Then Comes Summer,” a book about the anticipation of all of the adventures that come with the summer season. If you haven’t visited the StoryWalk feature yet, it is located at THE COMMONS and wraps around the pool area. The journey begins on the south side of the building near the monument that says “THE COMMONS.”

Free Covid Vaccine Drive-Thru Clinic

Josey Pharmacy will have a free drive-thru Covid-19 vaccination clinic in THE COMMONS parking lot on Saturday, June 5th. They will have the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine as well as the two-dose Moderna vaccine available. Appointments will be required, and you can register by clicking below!

Save the date! Meet us at THE LAGOON at 6 PM on Saturday, June 26th, for a patriotic golf-cart parade, and we'll make our way to THE COMMONS for a celebration from 7 - 10 PM presented by Cook Children's Health Care System. There will be a midway of classic carnival games, a pool party with festive decor, food trucks, and live music by Mojo Tango Foxtrot, brought to you by Pro Black Belt Academy. Our spectacular fireworks show will end the night with a bang!

Our first Windsong Grandparents Week of the summer is coming up! If you are grandparents who live in the community, invite the grandkids. If you have parents who want to visit, invite them to do the activities with the kids. We’ve scheduled activities every day for some summer fun.

Have you ever watched the American Ninja Warrior show and said, “I could do that!” - well, now is your chance to prove it! Ninja Nation is bringing their obstacle course on the road and installing a track on the event lawn. There is no fee to participate. All participants will have to fill out the waiver below! Join us for Sunday Sessions live music performance on June 13th! Every other week we will have acoustic performances from local music students set up in the Breezeway outside the Cafe at THE COMMONS!

Teen Improv Night

Join North Texas Cultural Arts League for an Improv Jam at THE COMMONS on Thursday, June 17th, from 6 - 8 PM! This event is open for kids aged 11-15, and we will learn about improv and play several games as a group. No experience is necessary! Tennis Reservation System

Dozens of residents have requested a reservation system at the tennis courts in the community, so we are glad to announce that this will be available starting next weekend, on June 12th. Residents will be able to reserve the three tennis courts closer to the street or reserve the fourth court as pickleball courts. Reservations will be available online on our website or through a QR code found at each gate next to the calendar. Below are the parameters set in place to give everyone an equal chance to play at the courts.

Sessions can be reserved in 30-minute increments- two (2) max per day and two (4) max total.
Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance.
You can play without a reservation; however, the court must be vacated before the next reservation.
The parameters are in place for EACH household – not per person.

Bootcamp and Brunch with NFinite Pursuit

NFinite Pursuit will be hosting one pop-up fitness class per month on Saturday mornings this summer that complement wellness with a social aspect. This month, we will be hosting a Bootcamp and Brunch class onsite on June 26th. More information, including registration, will be published on our Facebook page next week and included in next week’s newsletter.

Zumba

For the first time, we are bringing Zumba to THE LAGOON! Instructor Brenda Aguirre will be teaching classes at the volleyball court starting in the next few weeks.
