Hello Windsor!

Did you know Windsor has its very own Historical Museum? Town Historian and Historical Society President Steve Lehmann, his wife Jan, and many other wonderful volunteers have curated the Museum for many years. On Tuesday, the Sonoma County Historical Society awarded Steve Lehmann the "Historical Record Commission Collection and Archives Recognition Award" for his research on the Windsor Military Memorial Wall. Congratulations Steve!

The Windsor Museum is located next to the Windsor Senior Recreation Center at 9225 Foxwood Drive. I invite you to visit and take in some of the rich history of our community. For more information on hours of operation or general information visit https://www.windsorhistory.org/.

TOWN'S FIRST ALL-ELECTRIC TRUCK

The Town of Windsor is making strides toward a greener future with the purchase of its first all-electric field truck! The Parks and Recreation Department will utilize the Ford F-150 Lightning for parks and facilities maintenance. The department and the Town are proud to take this significant step forward in contributing to a healthier, more environmentally conscious future.

SOCOALERT TEST EXERCISE - COMING SOON!

The County of Sonoma Department of Emergency Management (DEM) will conduct a SoCoAlert test exercise in the Town of Windsor on Wednesday, February 28. The SoCoAlert test exercise will include Windsor’s four (4) evacuation zones and eight (8) surrounding Sonoma County unincorporated evacuation zones bordering the Town.

The Evacuation Zones included in the test exercise will be:

Windsor Evacuation Zones:

WI-A, WI-B, WI-C, and WI-D

Unincorporated Sonoma County Evacuation Zones:

SON-2K3, SON-2L6, SON-2N1, SON-3B1, SON-3C1, SON-4A1, SON-4A2, and SON-4A3.

The SoCoAlert test will let emergency officials assess how the alert and warning system performs in reaching residents in the Town of Windsor and the additional designated zones in Sonoma County. This exercise will allow community members to experience a test of the county's alert and warning system.

On February 7, at the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting at 6PM, the Town Council will receive a presentation from DEM staff on the upcoming SoCoAlert test exercise. We encourage your participation by either joining us in person or watching virtually by visiting https://www.townofwindsor.com/721/Agendas-Minutes-Videos to be prepared and informed on the upcoming event.

PUBLIC ART ADVISORY COMMISSION

Have you seen the Art Walk under the Oaks near the Town Green? Or the painted utility boxes around town? What about the Windsor Tree Mural at the Huerta Gym? Those are just a few of the many projects that the Public Art Advisory Commission (PAAC) has initiated within the Town of Windsor. Consisting of seven Commission members, the PAAC was established in 2015 to bring various forms of art and culture throughout the Windsor community.

In its advisory capacity, the PAAC focuses on making Windsor an artistic and cultural hub. Providing the framework for community engagement and collaboration in the development of ongoing art programs, projects, and cultural amenities.

If you would like to provide feedback or future art project ideas, attend one of the Public Art Advisory Commission meetings. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 4:30PM in the Civic Center Council Chambers, located at 9291 Old Redwood Highway, in Building 400.
