Hello Windsor!
Fall is here! The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the weather remains perfect for outdoor activities in our wonderful Town.
Have you had a chance to visit the new Bicycle Pump Track at Keiser Park?
Last week’s grand opening attracted over 100 youth and adult riders ready to hit the dirt for a good time. If you’re not familiar with pump tracks, you can find more information at Keiser Park Pump Track.
A big thank you goes to King Ridge Foundation, Redwood Trails Alliance, Windsor Rotary, People4Parks, Staubli, Bike Monkey, Healdsburg Lumber Company, Walton Architects, A-Team and many more.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Windsor Day Parade on Saturday, September 28.

PUBLIC HEARING DRAFT ZONING ORDINANCE
The Public Hearing Draft Zoning Ordinance is now available for review on the Town’s website at Zoning Ordinance Update and at Town Hall, 9291 Old Redwood Hwy, Building 400.
|
|
The purpose of a Zoning Ordinance is to specify which uses are allowed on a given property, establish development standards (e.g., parcel size, building height, yard setbacks, parking, landscaping), and implement the policies of the Town’s General Plan. The Town’s General Plan was adopted in 2018. The current Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 2000.
The updates to the Zoning Ordinance are primarily funded by a state grant intended to facilitate housing production and remove barriers to housing production. The updates are focused on: (1) achieving consistency with and implementing the 2040 General Plan; (2) creating consistency with State housing laws and reducing regulatory barriers to the construction of housing; (3) reflecting changes in State law; (4) creating contemporary zoning provisions; (5) making the Zoning Ordinance easier to use and implement; and (6) implementing changes to address issues identified by Town staff. The updated Zoning Ordinance includes provisions for tiny homes, cottage home developments, dwelling groups, and small lot subdivisions.
| |
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 8, 2024, at 5:30 PM to review the updated Zoning Ordinance and consider making a recommendation to the Town Council. If you want to provide comments or for more information, contact Planner Kim Jordan at kjordan@townofwindsor.com.
