Corte Fiore Pinot Grigio

Country: Italy

Region: Veneto

Grape: 100% Pinot Grigio

ABV: 12.5%

Winery notes: Our Pinot Grigio is carefully produced in Veneto region, in the north-eastern part of Italy. Vinified and matured in stainless steel, the lees aging gives to the wine an interesting structure and fine length.

Tasting notes: Made from Pinot Grigio grapes cultivated in northeastern Italy in vineyards stretching from the “terra firma” beyond the lagoons of Venice westward to Lake Garda and north to the Alps and the Austrian border. The warm climate is cooled by the effects of the nearby sea, lakes and the mountains allowing the grapes to maintain their freshness as they ripen. the result is a Pinot Grigio that is medium bodied and crisp with a silky texture and featuring flavors of apple, pear, melon and a touch of creaminess.

Pairings: Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with fish starters, fish and seafood dishes. Autumn salads, Sushi, Thai and white pizza.

Bodegas Luis Marin

Excelsis Old Vine Garnacha

Country: Spain

Region: Catalunya

Grapes: 100% Garnacha

Alcohol: 13.5%

Aging: 3 Months in Oak

Winemaker's notes: The Ignacio Marin family have deep roots in the Cariñena region, with a winemaking heritage stretching back centuries. This cuvée sources old Garnacha vines from 600m, and aged at least 3 months in French oak. Plumped blackberry, plum, black raspberry roll along the medium bodied palate, lit with a stony acidity, and framed with cushy tannins.

90 Points James Suckling

"Ripe, dark blackberry aromas border on prune. A fleshy, full palate offers layering and tannic structure, while this old vines Garnacha tastes toasty and heavily oaked, with blackberry flavors resting comfortably under a woody blanket. Coffee, chocolate and tobacco flavors are ramped up on a hot finish." — James Suckling

Pairing: charming and drinkable on its own but pairs nicely with roast lamb, grilled pork chops or beef, Panzanella or tomato and feta salads, Manchego and goat cheeses

Our Price: $12.00

Wheel Horse Rye Whiskey

94 POINTS - NY INT'L SPIRITS COMPETITION

GOLD - SF SPIRITS COMPETITION

Wheel Horse Rye is the first aged rye to come out of the historic Green River Distilling Co. This sour mash whiskey is made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It's distilled in copper stills then matured in hand-selected, 53-gallon, charred oak barrels for between three and four years. Like all of our small batch whiskeys, Wheel Horse Rye is bottled at 101 proof and without chill filtration.

Appearance: A dark mahogany with long, prominent legs.

Nose: Big aromas of alcohol and orange zest up front followed by aromas of cereal grain and oak char. At 101 proof, adding a few drops of water helped accentuate some of the more fruity elements.

Palate: The palate follows the aromas. It has a pleasant spicy heat that you expect from rye and you get that rich flavor of rye combined with citrus. It comes with a long finish of smoked honey and oak.
