 We have a delicious red blend in today's tasting that pairs elegant fruit with a zesty sense of gaminess, accented by dried cherry, smoky dried herb and subtle leather hints that take on richness toward the refined tannins. Comprised of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Cinsault, this Rhone style blend from California is sure to delight.

Today's tasting focuses on blends from California with some small producers that are making fantastic wines. This lineup progresses beautifully from bright and delicate to bold and concentrated, with each wine showing a refined complexity and individual style. We look forward to seeing you at the shop this afternoon and can't wait to share these wines with you.
                Wine Sampling - California Blends

We'll begin today's tasting with Idlewild, White Blend (Reg. $23.99, Sale $19.99), highlighted by honey, wildflowers, wet stones, salty air, jasmine, and orange blossoms with a mouth feel that's lean and a lively finish, followed by Charles & Charles Rosé (Reg. $12.99, Sale $9.99), a bright and dynamic dry rosé with aromas of wild raspberry and cherry, giving in to bright citrus, Herbs de Provence and lavender. For reds we'll start with Idlewild Red Blend (Reg. $23.99, Sale $19.99), a light, bright expression of 60% Dolcetto, 35% Barbera and 5% Nebbiolo, this offers notes of wild strawberry and dark cherry uplifted by tenacious acidity, followed by Le P'tit Paysan Le P'tit Pape Red (Reg. $23.99, Sale $21.99), Full of aromas of wild thyme, sagebrush and cranberry that lead into a lighter yet lively palate full of chaparral spice, cracked pepper and zesty red fruit. This is followed by Folkway Revelator (Reg. 23.99, Sale $19.99), produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc plus some Merlot from Bien Nacido it is deep red in color, with flavors of black cherry, pomegranate, espresso, and mocha. Finally, we'll end things with Field Recordings, Fiction Red (Reg. $19.99, Sale $17.99), a mix of Zinfandel, Syrah, Mourvedre, Graciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional, Carignan, that delivers a full and complex palate of ripe dark berries highlighted by concentration of flavors and layers of spice nuances that create a wine that is easy to love.
